I am a colby fan, but I honestly think this may backfire. Leon is known for kind of being reserved, you could see how when his coach amped him up he handled his business against Usman. What colby said could of been just what Leon needed to spark his fire.

True, but the only reason he said it (still couldn’t believe he did, but he’s on the wrestling heel tip) was to get in Leon’s head and it worked. Leon needs to chill and focus on the fight, Colby wanted to make him fight angry bc pushed off fighters typically make big mistakes and that usually doesn’t end well against top guys on the division

Steven Thompson is so positive, adequate, doesn't talk dirt, cool. It's a pity that it's coming out with Shavkat, otherwise I would be rooting for him. He should have a title chance in any situation. If I didn't know his age, I would have believed that he was 20 years old. It matches the nickname. There is not a single wrinkle, it is amazing. A real athlete. Khabib was even more emotional when he fought Connor and he was more dangerous if anything. I don't think Colby's style can take advantage of an overly aggressive Leon. Sure he can get takedowns and grind him down but he's not a knockout artist who can make Leon pay heavily like other fighters could. I may be wrong, but let's see.

@@yamamma__b I won't lie; I also thought that was a possibility. But, I think Colby is overrated, and Leon is underrated. Colby lost so many fans fighting that way; it was his last chance. He should have been reckless from round 3. To say he won the fight makes him come off as a clown. He could do that in the two fights with Usman because they were fun and competitive, but this was the easiest 4-1 scorecard you could have.

I agree with the Conor Aldo comparison to an extent, problem is Colby doesn't have KO power. He's playing a dangerous game of using psychological warfare because it can easily backfire, either he has broken Leon at the subconscious level in which he will doubt himself or fight with emotion. The flip side is he is determined and focused and sticks to his game plan which given the second Usman fight it means Colby will struggle with the taller, stronger and more accurate fighter.
