Being overly concerned with "protecting" others from things that might be emotionally upsetting but is in no way actually harmful is a disease for sure. For example: you will not make women stronger and safer by treating them like they are weak and need protection. I will feel weaker and think less of myself if people would treat me like that. I want love and help and compassion when there is a real need. I do not want system and culture changed to protect my feelings or for random people to treat me as if there is something wrong with me. Pretty sure most trans people would not want to be treated like that either, and I think most of these notions come from people who are not trans but instead want to cause harm to as many people as possible as they get off on that pain and suffering. They prey on compassionate people to get the caring people to do the harm while thinking they are doing the "right thing". Or there are many who just want to feel superior to others and so look for ways to "do the right thing" without examining if the thing you are doing is actually a loving thing (so much hate thrown around by supposedly caring and compassionate people who claim to be one of the good guys)...
