The thing is that Illia strung up some great performances against some decent fighters and due to the other contenders taking out new fighters, Volk wanted first dibs. Ilia’s confidence is justified compared to a lot of other guys like O Malley or even Colby to an extent.

I was never really a fan of Volkanovski but @08:00 was a very wholesome moment. Volkanovski is a true gentleman for allowing Topuria to wear the belt. Some would say it's bad luck to allow another fighter to wear or even touch your belt before a title fight.
