Her loss, as painful to me as it was, and then her eventual comeback and win, was worth all the pain of seeing her lose to Grasso. Congrats and well done to Shevchenko for keeping her focus on what's important. Valentina just keeps getting better. I love her respect for culture and language and her fans, who are more than just english speaking.

Nah, Moicano, Burns and others speak English, Costa improved over time and so on. Pereira grew up in a favela and started hitting tires with a hammer at 10 years old, he ain't exactly your average scholar, so you cannot expect the same level of literacy of others. I speak three languages, for us with a romance mother tongue (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Romanian) English ain't so easy, north European get it much faster phonetically

Valentina was always the better fighter. Stupid mistakes in the 1st and 2nd fight cost her a definitive victory (even if she got robbed in the 2nd fight), but tonight she was pretty much perfect and Alexa couldn't beat her.

Fighters who actually want to make it a fight and aren't just content on hugging and coasting to their victories will always have their fans. As soon as Valentina loses, people instantly turn on her because her fights are boring 90% of the time.

@@oxsilabologna. This fight may have been a lot of grappling “because Alexa is dangerous on the feet”. There are a lot of great Valentina fights that are finishes.. she won tonight because she is the more well rounded martial artist and she proved it.
