Yes, I think Valentina is #1 but the question was "why isn't she bigger" and I explained my rationale, which I think is valid. Yes, Valentina vs Nunez may have been close but to newer fans and casuals they won't know that it was a close fight. They will just see two losses to her. The losses don't look good on paper to the average viewer.

The problem is, women generally suck at athletics and hand-eye coordination. So, when you find one that's leagues above the rest in those two skills. Then, that woman will likely be reigning. For men, power can make up the lack of skill. Women don't have that. And typically with men, none of them are TOO below average in the skills department. So, it creates for a harder duration of reigning. Which just proves why Jon Jones is such a beast. But, Valentina's the real deal! Leagues better than the other women.

When i was a kid i used to watch her on a peruvian reality TV show , she was just a Muay Thai fighter representing Peru. Now I watch her on the biggest stage of the world. Its crazy how just in a few year she became the best at everything in the famale divisions,her striking, the pressure and even the ground game that she master quickly. The best female fighter over all, im glad she is p4p now , she deserves it.

Shevchenko's work is amazing! I've followed her from her muay thai days and was surprised when she switched to MMA and then the UFC. The first fight she loss to Nunes, but the second fight she clearly won. She is the baddest woman on the planet!

Tbh you see a lot of guys throw some of the same moves like the spinning elbow/backfist and miss or barely land but it seems when she throws them she has an amazingly high accuracy and hit %. She also pulls off some of the fastest transitions I have ever seen on the ground. One of my favorite fighters male or female based solely on her almost military tactician level of precision, technique and expertise. Amazing human.

I think it may partly have to do with height. She does hit lots of fast hits with accuracy. But speed on smaller limbs is easier.

Shes easily my fsvorite fighter by far. Her sportsmanship. The way she bows. She knows when shes gotten the kock out and stops her self. The way she ground and pounded the one girl and put her face on the side of her head right after to check on her. Her dancing (any fighter should also dance, its super good for fighting and rythem). Shes amazing.

She's a human who dedicated herself to martial arts since the age of 5, why couldn't she be compared with the best? Her skills, her speed and technique is one of the best and I agree with his statement that overall she is better than GSP in my opinion. I've been following her since she was trying to reach the top ... always humble, always smiling, she shares a lot of content about her community, travels a lot, shoots a lot ... guys she does a lot of things and in the meantime she improved in mma like no other, so much that she seems unreachable on a technical and speed level. amazing woman and amazing professional fighter. definitely in my top 5

She is the first real fighter that has a legitimate chance of being a 3 division champion. She owns 125 and if she can have a good cut to 115 I like her chances their as well. With Peña winning the 135 belt, if she (Peña) beats Amanda in the rematch, I would like to see Valentina move up for that belt as well.

@@intersatrs4830 Oh absolutely, and I think she’ll get a chance at the belt regardless of who wins Peña-Shevchenko II. I personally believe if Shevchenko wins, she won’t defend the BW belt, thus paving the way for Peña-Nunes II. I just think Nunes needs more time to get used to fighting at 135 again, especially after dealing with COVID-19.

@@kumite2787 agreed. Amanda needs to get that cardio back up and she already accepted the rematch so only a matter of time. But Pena has already said that she wants to drop to 125 and rematch Valentina too. I think she should fight her first, (but I don’t see her beating Valentina) and then hit the rematch after. Whether she wins or looses, she doesn’t loose the 135 belt. I know Valentina recently on Rohan’s podcast said she didn’t want to move up to 135 again to fight Amanda, but it might be different now that Pena has the belt
