That didn't seem to be the problem in that fight, he looked like he wanted to abuse range and just couldn't deal with the pressure like it surprised him or something. I can't help but suspect adesanya influenced him but hooker can't use that style yet

sof this is a strange take. hooker is an elite fighter in his own right without adesanya and doesn’t just look and copy what adesanya does. hooker has always had great success using a SIMILAR style to adesanya, ie feinting a lot and using his length, and just because he lost one fight it doesn’t mean that doesn’t work for him. if anything i would say his problem was being too tentative.

Chandler had the best ufc debut against top 5 guy first round ko uncontested I mean it's a goodass argument for a title shot. Plus he's new in the picture that's refreshing for lightweight can't deny that.

most fighters say “It’s a blur” when they’re in the cage, especially after they get hit in the head for 15-25 minutes. plus you should give the guy some credit, because he ate some HEAVY shots.

I love that standing ovation before the fight was over. Something kinda gets me emotionally at the end of that Weili v Joanna Fight, such a battle, both performed so fiercely and competitively. Joanna applauding at the end looking how she did and the relief on Weilis face. Just warriors. Historic.

Honestly my favorite year of fights ever. High level fights in an empty arena setting is the purest form of the sport to me. You hear everything, the striking, breathing, twisting, crying, corners, it’s amazing!

I think he’ll have a different game plan. Also, hooker is a massive LW. Probably the biggest LW on the roster, so his punching power is honestly probably comparable to McGregor at 155.
