You ain't lying!! Usually you'll see people have to make adjustments in cinching a guillotine up that tight, but Ortega had it locked in tight as can be from the drop.

Volk getting out of Oretega's guillotine and triangle was INSANE. I've never seen a fighter get out of a submission that deep let alone 2 of them in the same round. Any other man on earth would have tapped or went out. Those guys have IRL breath holding buffs from all the surfing they do, I swear.

Both chokes cut off arterial supply of oxygenated blood to the brain. Not breathing. He survived because Ortega was exhausted & because Alex kept squirming & angling to keep at least a little blood getting through.

1. Volk used to hold the weight in the heavyweight category. His blood vessels, body construction is superior and allows for an infinite gas tank. 2. His neck is short, similar to Yoel Romero. You can't sub someone without a neck. 3. T City was too tired. He took too many hits before.

Volkanovski showed why he’s a UFC champion in that main event. Also that was a TUF coaches fight, makes it even better. Who the hell survives that many deadly choke attempts and still manages to beat someone’s face in? Beaten to a pulp with what looked like fractured bones in Ortegas face. Brilliant MMA performance all around. Felder said “He’s a savage, man”. And he is. He and Izzy got the best coach in the game right now. Alexander Volkanovski FOTY UFC 266 hall of fame fight for sure

It was frustrating over the past year reading all the comments from die-hard Holloway fans salty over the second fight who disregarded Volkanovski as a paper champion, and had total disregard for his skillset. This was a real middle-finger to the doubters who thought Volk was a champion in name only and I'm glad he's getting the respect he deserves.

It’s my first year of watching all live events instead of catching highlights and I’m so glad I picked this year to get into the sport properly. I’m still genuinely shocked at the amount of brilliant fight cards, hopefully the next year picks up right where this year ended.

GSP is the real GOAT 1. 20 UFC wins 2. 13 title fight wins 3. 9 consecutive defenses in the most stacked division at the time 4. multiple weight champion 5. 33 consecutive rounds won 6. most UFC champions ever defeated 7. most takedowns ever landed 8. most control time 9. longest overall time as a champion 10. NEVER failed a drug test for PEDs unlike Silva and Jones whom have failed multiple drug tests GSP has the most well rounded and accomplished resume in MMA history. He did it CLEAN.

I'm well aware anything can happen to change the outcome of a fight but assuming this particular fight went all the way to end bell and stayed true to the course it was on up to that point, I feel like it's safe to say DP would have got his hand raised

Honestly the entire Covid 2019-2021 years were CRAZY for UFC fights..... like lowkey hella good fights.... Fighting with no audience DEF makes it more interesting

Ortega was saved by the UFC in that fight. He couldn't even get up to go to his corner by himself and they delayed starting the fight by three minutes too. Other fighters that couldn't even sit up weren't given a chance, yet he gets carried back to his corner though.

Watching chandler and Gaetje, I am even more convinced that Izzy vs Alex Perrerier was an early stoppage. Not saying for sure Izzy would not have been knocked out still, but he was still there on both feet bobbing and weaving in an attempt to avoid being hit, so he was still very conscious and defending himself. He should have been allowed to be taken out on his shield instead of depriving him of the opportunity of a comeback via knockout (takes only one punch even if you’re rocked as shown by chandler v Gaetje and countless others) or survived till the end of the round and he would have won a majority decision easily as he had all four rounds, and was winning the 5th. Thought it a bad decision then and rewatching chandler v Gaetje just strengthens that belief.
