when you get caught in a sub like that, you freak out and flight or fight kicks in. you're only thinking about how to get out and naturally, you know the one strategy that will 100% work is tapping. factor in that 99% of the time that happens, its in training and there are no real consequences, it's unfair to judge when a person is faced with that dilemma during the 1% where it matters most. but then again, you're probably undefeated with a heart of a lion and a will that would strike fear in justin gaethje so your opinion matters more than mine.
