@brendankelly26534 сағат бұрын
@@destroya3303 I honestly don't think Izzy had a choice. Usually he could dart out of the way when his back is against the cage, but Alex was very good at staying in front of Izzy, like he was mirroring his angles. Kinda like a great boxers like Marvin Hagler or Mike Tyson, cutting off angles to hit them on the way out. Izzy was well aware of that, so he used an open extended guard like George Foreman to deflect power shots. It was a pretty good technical stand up fight.

Seemed like Alex didn't agree with that statement but said "ok" as a way to leave it things on better terms then what it was. However, you can tell when Alex approached Izzy with good energy and open arms at the end, he is letting Izzy know that he respects him, and also showing that he doesn't have any ill feeling towards him - something Izzy did not understand at the time. Now, in present day Izzy cannot relate with this statement he then said, as he now likes him.

This was a crazy fight. Two of the best kickboxers in the world who already fought twice and had a rivalry. One, a defensive counter striker, and the other an offensive counter striker (Alex is very crafty in the way he uses his jabs and kicks and feints to set you up then counter you with a predetermined kill shot). It was danger for 5 rounds nonstop.

What a great rivalry. I know Alex won 3-1 overall but it was 1-1 in the ufc. Both had crazy knockouts. A lot of people don’t like Izzy, but he is a legend. Even if he never wins another fight, nothing can take away what he accomplished and how important he is to the sport. Also, you can tell Alex has always respected Izzy. He has beat the man 3x overall and never rubs in his face or nothing. Only gives credit to him. That’s why Alex might be the biggest star in the sport right now
@AT-qu2bz8 сағат бұрын
Because the context is almost as important as the result. Izzy got robbed in their 1st fight, dominated him in the 2nd one until disaster happened, same in this third fight and funnily enough, the only fight he was clearly losing, he koed him 🤣
