All forbidden stuff in mma because it works. So don't start about who knows what better than who. 3:47 DC is 100% correct when he says this. It is a shame that the UFC counted this round as a record-breaking round for Almeida. They credited Almeida with 9 takedowns, when he should have been credited with ONE. His arms were never unlocked, so anyone who has ever wrestled will recognize those as MAT RETURNS, not "takedowns". Whoever was tracking statistics for this fight should be ashamed of themselves.

@Deebo_8
@Deebo_8 2 күн бұрын
@@Campalai I understand it's not wrestling, it's MMA. That's beside my point. You can't take somebody down if they haven't even gotten up. Simply standing up on the outside of the octagon isn't an "escape" and it never has been. If so, they wouldn't credit a fighter with control time, but they do. There's a reason that when Kamaru Usman was completely stood up, fighting Khamzat Chimaev off of his back, they credited Khamzat with control time when he was doing so. That would be like crediting Islam Makhachev with a submission attempt every time he tried getting his arm under Dustin Poirier's neck, it just doesn't make any sense. He would have 50+ submission attempts in that fight alone. You can argue that "this isn't wrestling", but that doesn't take away from my point that it is a VERY generous way of crediting a person with a "takedown" statistic.

@@Deebo_8 I don't see how it's invalid. Getting your hands around someone isn't particularly difficult. It's actually getting them onto the mat, which is exactly what Almeida did. Just because he got up and his hands were still locked/they were still clinched doesn't change that.

@kommisar. 9 сағат бұрын
Yes, after one round, it's pretty unlikely he would get tired. However, if Almeida would have been able to continue doing that in the future rounds, Curtis would have gradually worn out and lost the fight. Just because you didn't see him get exhausted in the first round doesn't mean they would have eventually taken their toll. Try wrestling one time and see how tiring that shit is. Curtis was getting ragdolled and had no answer to Almeida's grappling. It would have been really interesting what would have happened had Almeida not thought he could just hold on to the leg while he was getting his head smashed in.

There wasn't an uppercut. It was hammer fists. I would have deemed it an early stoppage, if Almeida didn't seem so defeated after the hammer fists. Like Jiri vs Pereira 1.

Jailton Almeida is coward, he's known this since the start of his career and that's why he chooses to lay on people because he knows he's not a warrior. Curtis showed him that crotch sniffing doesn't work when your getting smashed in the head by 30 hammerfists. Best win in ufc history

Is it cowardise or is it smart? To do what you are good at and avoid what you are not. Maybe Curtis would not have been finished twice by an inexperienced Ngannou if he was a coward was diving for the legs at every oportunity maybe he could have won. We give him respect for fighting Francis twice and nobody called him stupid so why are you calling Jailton a coward? If Almeida would have won this fight, you would speak differently about him,you are only as good as your last fight in this sport, and Almeida showed in hes last fight he can finish a fight on the ground and not just lay.

@@Reypstraptor4269 Yeah he finished an absolute Bum and Can on the ground. Lol no, don't get me wrong. I'll think Almeida would ragdoll Alex, but if Alex was to move up the heavyweight giving him anybody less than Aspinall would just be disrespectful. Not to mention from a business standpoint Almeida vs Alex makes no sense, sense him fighting Jon Jones or Tom ( or even Gane) would make the Ufc 10 times more money.
