Kyall420 a lot of the legends are 40 years old or up. Most fighters back then were on roids. There were barely no testing, and obviously fighters wanted to have as much advantage as they could get. Quit being ignorant. One of the biggest cheaters in the sport Josh Barnett is American.

Life is Peachy Wtf? Take the racist level down a notch buddy, you have no idea what you're talking about. Plenty of white fighters have been busted for peds (Ortega, Mendes, Barnett, Mir, Chael Sonnen, Rothwell... etc). And plenty of good non-white fighters have been tested clean, including Demetrius Johnson, Aldo, DC, Woodley, Assuncao, and Anthony Johnson.

Life is Peachy I never said the best fighters are of color. I know many great fighters are white, I rank GSP as the greatest fighter of all time. However, it's completely unfair to say white fighters are completely superior. Tons of them have failed test too, and tons of great colored fighters haven't. There's no correlation, fighters from all different backgrounds, physiques, and nations have tested positive and tested negative. Your list of great white fighters is also very flawed. Many of them fought their primes pre-USADA, I don't think anyone thinks Chuck fought clean, and definitely not Fedor in Pride where they encouraged steroid use.

cambo6911 hes not wrong though, GSP is a legend but he had a contractual obligation to defend the MW belt, he has stated his reasons for not competing at 185 but why would they give him another instant title shot at 155? They offered him Diaz so he can show he can make weight without the health dramas and then the winner of that fight gets a title shot against Conor or Khabib. This is an exceptional offer considering Georges would be the B side if he fights McGregor and potentially Khabib if he beats Conor. Why risk your biggest star against a guy who is most likely going to retire after the fight? GSP walked out and left WW without a champ, then vacated at MW.

Mike Stillborn Though you make a few solid arguments, I don't think it's necessarily about write or wrong but rather more about opinion. Georges has done as much for the sport & the UFC as anybody and few have done as much. It's my contention that he can challenge for any title he chooses. He's earned it. What, is this only afforded to fighters once? During the era where rankings & belts have never meant less? I get where you're coming from regarding showing up & taking out the number 1 contender & Georges vacating but the truth is, Pinky don't care for Georges because Georges calls his own shots, so he's going to be salty & uncooperative regarding Georges. Dana has one hell of an ego and there's no excuse for it with a guy like Georges IMHO...

They need to figure out a way to get all the UFC fighters to shift into their natural weight classes. This will not only avoid the cheats(size bullies) but its also way safer and no one will ever miss weight again. Just fight at your natural weight, it will make things sooo much easier. Also, they could implement a rule where if you miss weight twice in a certain division, you have to move up a weight class. Just getting rid of the morning weigh ins and moving it to 4pm, wont solve much i dont think. Need stricter rules and punishments...

when i was fighting in competitions as a youngster our weigh ins were the day of the comp. if you wernt healthy and fit to fight in that devision, you didnt get to fight and got sent back to the dojo to get beaten by the sensei/coach

If this is really an issue of timing, and morning doesn’t work, why not have the weigh-ins *two whole days* before the fight, but in the evening like it was before? That would allow 48 hours of rehydration, it would cause less head trauma from KO's, less organ damage etc. Again, if it's the same for everyone, how can it benefit one fighter more than another?

The time of day they weigh in isn't the issue, the issue is people cutting fucking 20lbs to have an advantage over smaller opponents. THAT needs to stop. How about address that instead of pretending like moving it from morning to afternoon matters.

This weight thing is crazy. Why not checking all fighters weight everyday 4 days prior to a fight with fighters required to be within 4 pounds of fighting weight ? Official weight in on the morning before the fight. This remind me of FIFA trying to find excuses for not using video replay. Make fighters fight at their natural weight.

Except for basically every fighter speaking out about it is saying dont change it and the people missing weight would miss regardless they are unprofessional.... They moved it earlier to protect the fighters safety and now for $$$$ they are trying to force it back... so screw the fighters health I guess.
