I disagree with Dana's assessment that Izzy was slow. Sean was marching him down the entire fight. He wasn't accustomed to that type of pressure, especially since he couldn't get anything off on Sean. Izzy was also hurt early so that make him extra cautious of Sean's power.

Nah don’t say Izzy didn’t show up or anything. Sean pressured him the whole fight, didn’t overextend and open himself up to be countered, and broke Izzy by the end, hence why Izzy was still backing up at the end when he knew he needed a finish. Izzy’s a very good counterstriker, but like we saw with the Romero fight, if he can’t get going with those counters he has a rough time. I don't see what you see: Dana praised Sean for what he did, and insisted, with a smile on his face, that Sean delivered this performance being a huge underdog. His opinion is that Izzy was stiff, and he finds odd the fact that in the fifth round Izzy didn't even try to risk it all for a knockout: he has his reasons to think that Izzy had something wrong. I don't agree with him: I think that Sean shut down, not really his style, but his strategy, and I think that Izzy stopped trying cause he was afraid of that punch, and when you're strategy is being elusive, if you're scared, you won't throw a single punch, and if you will you'll look slow and stiff cause you'll be to conscious about what you do. I think people hate Izzy so much that every time someone says his name, things gets interpreted in a way that can allow haters to hate even more, not only Izzy, but whoever linked to him in some way. Even for the rematch: he said it might be interesting, but also that he doesn't now the answer. It might be interesting cause a lot of people would want to see what would happen, so it would sold a lot: Dana has to care about business too. Izzy has been a dominant champions with 11 title fights, 9 won, and a lot of followers and a recent revenge story... it's normal to think about the rematch, as a business level: he didn't say much on the sporting level, and he did praise Sean.

Dana Pink is dying inside. This was supposed to be an easy match-up for Adesanya before the dangerous fight against Dricus. Adesanya becomes a leg kick merchant when he doesn't have a massive height and reach advantage. Strickland absolutely dominated the striking. Pereira has definitely taken the durability away from Adesanya too.

Maybe if Sean knocked out Izzy in the first round, i could see the case for a rematch (even though it's not warranted). But this was a 4 round schooling by Sean. Adesanya may have won round 2 but other than that, he was losing nearly every exchange. He is 1-2 in his last 3 fights. No rematch necessary. Needs to work for the title.

It's amazing how boxing and neutralizing Izzys kicks was always the best gameplan. Just no one had the balls and fight IQ until De'Sean came around.

Sean has always had good defense, but his leg kick checking and defense against looping haymakers has drastically improved I think training with Poatan helped him alot... Izzy looked fine Sean just walked him down and he couldn't figure out how to land solid shots on Sean... Everyone has a gameplan until it doesn't work... Eugene should've prepared him better but Izzy and Eugene were so focused on running from grapplers like Driccus and khamzat they didn't prepare for a tough sob like Sean and paid for it
