Since JJ has not fought in one year and three months, he cannot possibly be number one on that list. There are no hard rules, but these rankings are usually based on current standings and current performance. Jon has not fought in over a year. He arguably lost fights (Silva, Reyes. Obviously he killed Gane). He is holding back the division and he is also ducking the interim champ Aspinall hard. Instead he is taking a fight with an old fire fighter. What JJ is probably #1 on, is the GOAT list. His career achievements make it hard to argue that. On my personal list I still have Khabib or GSP above him.

I think attitude has a lot to do with it. Apparently Arlovski is real pissed about it being his last fight. He wanted to continue and probably will at another promotion. Whereas Waterson comes off as very grateful and thankful for the opportunity. But I agree pitbul was a pioneer and former champ so deserves more love than he’s getting.
