The comments about Mazzagati are classic! I love on UFC 100 behind the scenes, Brock Lesnar rips on Mazzagati's referring too! That s**t is comedy!

Great blog, the UFC should really try to sign Murilo "Ninja" Rua. Was that Janet Jackson towards the end of the video?

wait, so is Machida vsv Shogun gonna show on SPike TV for free? or was Dana talking about the rematch?
@BostonDFi15 жыл бұрын
Very valid points.. I'm not looking for him to rip him off but you need to get in there. As you said, their not lookign to break bones only proves my points. big John is a great ref and he did wrap up guys and it's not a street fight. If you have someone in any lock and you get grabbed hearing in your ear ITS OVER you gotta let go. UFC 1 refs were very hesitant to get anywhere near the action when a fighter was tapping and the agressor continued action

Late, but good:-) Good idea showing footage from Shogun vs Machida. Forget Mazzagati, Dana should have blasted the judges for the main event...

Dana please do something about the mat for WEC fights. I'm tired of seeing the fighters slip over and over. When it affects the fights, it becomes a problem. I'm surprised it hasn't been taken care of already.

Herb has had a few imporatnt early stoppages, the main reason for all of the early stoppages (especially once they were tryin to go mainstream) was to help the image of the sport, with critics, politicians talking smack. But I am most impressed with LaVigne as I cant remember early stoppages and hes not afraid of blood, has restarted the fighters in last position before the timeout (a pride rule) Mad Props

the refs and judges are appointed by the state athletic commission, not the fight promotion.nevada state athletic commission just refused Big John application for reinstatement, saying that they had enough refs already and did not need any more.

@BostonDFi15 жыл бұрын
Yeah I understand what your sayin.. it was just UFC 2 and 1 were like night and day when it came to officials. The refs seemed very unsure and seemed like the would err on the side of letting a fight continue instead of stopping the fight as soon as he thought the fighter wanted out. I agree though that since the ref could not stop the fight himself made it more difficult to get involved it was just the whole aspect You definetly know whats up though

yeah but I just recently watched it and some of the fighters tapped and it was like when they tapped the ref wasn't sure if it was a legit tap and waiting longer then they should have to get in there. They also didn't seperate the fighters when their was a tap, it was more of a "excuse me can you stop twisting his body please" way.

@Vinnie000315 жыл бұрын
Man I was so mad with the atletic comission in this UFC. Why they still have this kind of issues after so many years ??? Mazzagatti early stoppage, and the wrong decision at the Shogun/Machida fight, what was that? An old boxing feeling with black n white hair was emerging on me... I just tought, this isn't moment to happen such thing in MMA, how many people are watching UFC for the first time?
@DonBarracuda11715 жыл бұрын

Mazzagatti strikes again....Jose Aldo fires a flurry into Mike Brown's arms as he covers up on the ground and he calls the fight. How many times do we have to see the same ref ruining a headline fight we waited months to see. No more Mazzagatti!
@Smoot30715 жыл бұрын
xxAJFxx I totally agree. Rumble Johnson is damn good. I would love to see him beat the shit out of GSP. I like GSP but he has had his day. I think Johnson is still a little way off in his skill, but he is explosive as hell and he is going to be a champion some day!
@kanguesso15 жыл бұрын
Big Test for Rumble Johnson tonight. If he knocks out Koschek or beats him convincinly, i'd say he would be maybe one fight away from a shot at GSP. Remember, GSP did dominate koschek but he didn't finish him, Neither did Alves. It would a big statement if Rumble can put him away Early.

@Sephiroth01992 No one's denying Pacquiao is the pbp best boxer in the world. Except Mayweather and his buddies, of course. The difference here is MMA guys can still be fans of boxing. It's not a competition. One doesn't have to be a threat to the other. Rugby and American Football aren't competing with each other even though they have a lot of similarities and one stems from the other. As for PPV comparisson, UFC 105 was tape delayed & broadcast free on Spike TV. How was Haye vs Valuev on PPV?

velasquez v. rothwell. velasquez was definitley dominating the fight. but it was stopped early. rothwell took several (i think 5) punches to the face while he was moving up the fence to get of the ground. he wasn't hurt at all from what i saw and mazz stopped the fight when he was on his feet, facing velasquez, and pushing him away. worst stoppage i've seen in a while.

@xxmoney91xx15 жыл бұрын
Depends on the weight class, its not like little fuckin steve mazzagatti is going to be able to pull apart anyone but a couple featherweights. Where as big john (if he were still with the ufc) would be able to pull apart some larger guys. Not only that, but the UFC isnt a bloodsport, most of these guys are fighting for a paycheck, and are not intending to break bones and injure people, they are looking for the W, so once they get that, they have no read to hold the submission.
