It's crazy that just because Jiri's style is a weakness to Alex's style, suddenly everyone forgot Jiri was a Champion.
@TSKDeadshot Жыл бұрын
How is it a weakness when he finished him both fights under 5 rounds combined? Edit: I missread what u wrote lol. I don't think anyone forgot jiri was champ but Alex's kickboxing is the best the ufc has seen since guys like lyoto at lhw. The only guy to beat him is izzy who has just as good kickboxing skills as alex. It's hard to beat guys like that without grappling
@foulelements Жыл бұрын
@@TSKDeadshot izzy is actually the noticeably better kickboxer in terms of skills, alex is a big man who carries the equalizing factor, which is generating extreme power that hurts folks and often leads to brutal KOs.

I watched each champion fight in their respective eras in real-time. It was a different kind of energy with every experience and then you tack on Pride FC's moment with the sport, and the smaller feeder leagues.... Even the arranged unofficial fights with huge starpower...Man, what a crazy life it must have been to be professionally involved and to see all of it go down firsthand... I remember the politics both corrupted or not, the bad blood, the controversies, the bar scenes, the golden age, the great merge, the backstage shenanigans, from hotel lobby weigh-ins to what you see today, etc,. etc,. etc,. It has been quite the ride which I still very much enjoy like I have since 1993.

When Frank finished Igor, that was one of the most poetically impressive lift and slam executions we saw in that era. From start to finish in slow-mo, there was a confidence in Frank's look that likely instilled fear in the masses and that very finish is still as beautiful today as it was all the way back when. I love the part where Franky is smoking a cigar, chilling on his lawn chair and calling Dana out. Lol.

@jboi6398 yeah, given how close a lot of Jon's fights were and the fact that his strength (aka steroids) and size (HW frame) was his best weapon, Jon would not be where he is without cheating. Imagine if he wasn't on roids for his closer fights like against Gus, DC or Reyes, or if those guys were also on roids, Jon would have lost those for sure.

@jboi6398 every time jones has fought someone near his height, he has always arguably lost (except for recently, legit win against cereal gone), but he hands down lost that reyes fight, but i still will never defend gus in that first fight, he didnt beat jon, he made him look human

bad reasoning, GSP TAPPED to strikes against serra and tapped to matt hughes, Jon jones had a fully grown TRT vitor on his arm and powered through it, his third reign at LHW was him not even training properly as barely showing up at his MMA gym (quoted by winklejon on the MMA hour), also he didn't lose to reyes, he won 3-5 where he broke reyes' nose in round 3 also GSP had HGH gut and showed signs of gyno

@@Manbat420 wrong, Jones was 6'4 with the longest reach yes but he was 220 cutting 15 pounds to make LHW, current LHW's are cutting more than him like hill, Pereira, jan and even DC who fought and has wins at HW

One of the absolute brutal knockout series is Jones ground and pound ShoGun, hard left to multiple elbows then the knee to his liver while he was on all fours, then he stands up and backs up to the cage, receiving a left hook to the liver and knee as he falling down tapping. I don't know if we'll ever see anything more brutal. I wonder how many ribs were broken in that series.
