Love this. For people who don't know rugby league, to be Aleksandra's Hight playing front row is very rare. Usually front rowers are 100+ kg as well. And knowing he dominated makes it less of a surprise that he sky rocketed in the MMA world. Gotta be super tough and competitive to play that position, at that height, and dominate.

I don't know much about Rugby league but one big difference is the scrum. In union scrums are contested which means both sides try to either hook the ball or gain ground by pushing the other team back while the ball is still in there. In league they just roll the ball straight out. I'm 6"0 and was 250lbs when I had to give up playing prop because I was to small in union. I don't think there is any chance Volk could play professionally as a prop in union.
@Howling-Mad-Murdock
@Howling-Mad-Murdock 2 жыл бұрын
@@edmann1820 When I (and my brother) played, scrums were contested. I started as a prop but was playing wing by my late teens, I was big for a winger but too small for a prop. I played a year of union as a flanker and the first few games were a bit of a shock, certain aspects were very physical! It would be fair to say even after a year I still didn’t really know what I was doing, I got by simply because I was a good athlete. I once replaced our hooker for a half, never ever again would I do that! First scrum I thought my head was going to pop! The other teams hooker beat the shit out of me at every scrum.😂. I think league front rows have it easy in comparison.

Tbh the FTW goat debate is weird. The obvious choice a few years ago was Aldo with 7 defences and many years as champion at WEC too. Most people now say Max coz he arguably had tougher competition and destroyed everyone on his amazing streak, beating Aldo twice. But, Volkanovski beat both of them, and beat Max twice. Plus if he wins he will have only 1 defence less than Max. However the funniest thing is, Conor actually probably had the highest peak at FTW, and also beat Max and Aldo. Could be any of them tbh
