@@adolpholiverbush5867 weight does not make much difference with dagestani wrestling style. Dustin who is probably one of the biggest lws walks around at 190 gave the best break down. They are not super strong. It's their top control & great weight distribution that makes their wrestling style untouchable. Watch the podcast with rogan. Even cutting to 155, these guys can hang with 170s easy on the ground.

They are delaying title shot as they avoided for khabib. Khabib mauled rda in prime after which rda became light weight champ, and after that khabib had to fight a lot of fighter coz he was injured but he was still smashing and when he was really close the connor turned and fought Alvarez and then left . Thus khabib could have became champion a lot earlier. He was dominant since beginning till the end.

Sambo should be recognized as one of MMA's base arts, just like boxing, bjj, wrestling etc. Its so underrated. Other fighters have to learn each art separately and are tasked to combine them. *Why not start MMA by doing MMA already?* Grapplers cant wrestle. Wrestlers cant grapple. For most fighters, *its usually never balanced.* There was a video of Islam fighting and defeating Zabit from way back. They look like teenagers and it was practically an MMA fight. Im telling you these guys can absolutely throw hands. The least damaged fighter of all time ( never bled nor wounded ), Khabib, is not even a "striker". These guys like Khabib and Islam ( and also Zabit ) have been MMA fighters since birth, they're just exploiting the weaknesses in LW's that is the combination of wrestling and grappling. No one is truly as well rounded as them.

There are no easy opponents at Lightweight, its a very stacked division. 'Bums' at Lightweight have likely all been weeded out in the UFC, unlike higher weight-classes.

If you lose a title shot, you should no longer be in top 5 anymore until you're back on a 3-5 fights winning streak or else the same fighters will keep getting title shots instead of other contenders. Actually, Dariush should have gotten the title shot instead of Gaethje and the winner should have fought Islam... But too much politics anyway.
