What Jose Aldo accomplished is unparalleled. And he did without ever using his bjj blackbelt skills with the exception of 1 fight. That is truly amazing.

Incredible legend , retired when he still had it in him , first UFC Featherweight champion and the Featherweight GOAT , so happy that he got out of UFC without becoming a punching bag, Gave us wars in featherweight against Chad Mendes , Hominick and Edgar , A fighter who had a skillset that helped him in the lower weight class from those leg kicks to the takedown defense , his style is beautiful especially when he lets loose of those combos , I'm so happy for him he had an incredible career and a fantastic story from tough poverty in the favelas to a world champion , it was a matter of time and it was well deserved . Respect.

*TRULY A PIONEER* of the sport as well as the UFC. This was the guy making all the noise during a time when the smaller divisions were hardly being noticed and look at how he propelled those to what they have become today. That's why he will be remembered as a legend forever.

A well deserved HOF induction for a legend. Aldo's second fight with Mendes is also worthy of a HOF induction, its the greatest FW fight and one of the best fights I've seen.

LEGEND He was still improving as a fighter up until he retired, really putting together some smooth boxing.Hes in the Top 5 Brazilian fighters of all time for sure

It's weird growing up with the UFC. In other sports people retire and the team goes on, watching your favorite fighters getting older and all retiring is tough. Happening a lot lately as the new generation gets here. All you can do is be thankful for the fights we had the opportunity to witness. Very happy for Aldo, he deserves this. The King of Rio, congrats.

Certified OG right here. I just happened to turn on the TV and the channel was on Versus, saw Aldo touch gloves with Cub Swanson & then shortly proceed to double flying knee the shit out of Cub’s face. He did his manic monkey dance celebration and I was an instant fan ever since. Long live the King of Rio! 👏🏽 👑

The king of rio, a decade undefeated at FW (over 5 defenses) along with some losses but in the end back to a great resurgence in the BW division. Legend status & easily one of the best to do it in the ufcs history. Humble, heart of a warrior, happy retirement jose! 🫡👑

My favourite moment was the win over Jeremy Stephens. You could see the amount of relief and emotion coming out of Jose after he won. From being mentally broken by Conor then coming back to win in that fashion was really great to see.

I got into the sport super late. Just in the past couple of years. I was never fortunate enough to see Aldo in his prime, but I’ve definitely heard the legend that is Jose Aldo. Growing up I had only heard of 2 great fighters. Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo. 2 legends that deserve to world for what they’ve done for MMA. Glad the king of Rio is getting the respect he deserves!

100% deserved, no matter how much Conor fans talk about him knocking Aldo out in 13 seconds, Aldo was the Featherweight GOAT, he went unbeaten for nearly a decade and won WEC and UFC titles in the process.
