I used to throw a lot of UFC PPV house parties when Anderson Silva was on the card. They were some of the most memorable moments of my life. Thank you for what you have done for the sport. Well deserved to the greatest middleweight of all time.

And he was already in his 30’s when he joined the UFC. Imagine the numbers he would’ve racked up had he came in at 23-24 like most of these guys today. His numbers would be untouchable. He’s the pound for pound GOAT.

The Spider is, simply put, the greatest Middleweight of all time. He did things in the cage you didn’t think were possible. The legacy of Anderson Silva will now live forever as he takes his rightful and deserved place in the UFC Hall of Fame.

Been an mma fan since 1997 seen so many greats come and go, but no other fighter inspired me like Anderson, there were so many times in his greatest performances when it felt like Anderson just trancended, became one with the matrix, and could now do ANYTHING he wanted. To this day no other fighter has inspired such martial arts myticism in me like he did. The 🐐

@Jim ? Everyone's run ends at some point either by retirement, a loss, or both. Losing to Weidman take nothing from what he accomplished. Sooner or later the run was going to end, that night happened to be the night the streak snapped.

@Jim Khabib is highly overrated in my opinion. He did not defend his belt to near the extent of other greats in Jones, GSP, Silva. He quit in his prime, which is fine, but he didn't last as champion for a long time. He never fought Tony Ferguson, a major fighter in his division and that leaves a question that will never be answered in what that fight would've looked like if both fighters were in their primes. I think Tony would've given him a real fight. Not fighting Ferguson also means Khabib DID NOT clear out his division and face down all comers. For these reasons, I can never put Khabib up there with GSP or Silva or Jones. He isn't on my Rushmore. His undefeated record is not as impressive to me as even Mighty Mouse who defended his belt so many times, or Nunes who has been dominating 2 divisions for years. Jones is the LHW Goat, but lets see what he does at HW, and he is not undefeated. He lost to Matt Hamill by DQ. It was not a loss that hurt his stock in any way, but it is still a loss.

One of the all time greats. There will be never another anderson silva in the UFC. It´s like watching Khabib, McGregor, St. Pierre, Aldo or Jon Jones you could clearly see that he was above everyone in his peak. I first saw the flying knee on television in a pride fighting event, where he KO´d his enemy via a flying knee. I will never forget this moment, or how he demolished Forrest Griffin. So many memories. Thank you Anderson.

I remember growing up as a kid watching him and being amazed. I always remember thinking one thing every single time I saw him fight and I would think to myself “am I watching the modern Muhammad Ali” it was nothing short of a miracle. I am truly honored and humbled to be able to say I’ve seen this man perform live on paper view. I will honor and cherish the time I had to while watching him perform. Anderson “The Spider” Silva and will always be remembered till the end of time. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Anderson silva came in at the perfect time in the sport. He was a naturally gifted counter striker in an age of brawlers and he was brazilian so him and all his friends practiced a ton of bjj. Dude was blessed
