@jakedemaggio86492 жыл бұрын
Dricus is culturally much more African. All of Usmans fighting skills were developed in America by Americans. He’s a pro fighter because of being in an American wrestling program. He lived most his life in America , he speaks English as his first language, still lives in America , married an American women etc. I agree, Usman IS NOT AMERICAN, just moving here DOESN’T make you an American , America like Nigeria has a distinct peoples & a core population who’s ancestors literally generations after generation fought & died for their nation & people to exist. I’m an American not only by birth, but by heritage & history. Usman does not have an American Heritage & History beyond himself. He’s Nigerian. You don’t just move somewhere and you automatically become that. But DRICUS IS AFRICAN, in both heritage & history. His people the Afrikaners are a distinct African ethic group, they speak their own language which is only spoken in Africa. He has HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS of years of heritage & ancestors that fought & spilled blood on African soil so that they could exist & create South Africa. None of that can be said broadly about Nigerians in America, but it can be said about Afrikaners in Africa.
@jakedemaggio86492 жыл бұрын
I would find it insulting if Usman claimed to be American & carried that flag, which he doesn’t. It only bothers you because you’ve bought into the myth that “anyone can be American” therefore nobody is an American. No, America is a distinct place, with a distinct peoples & regions & distinct cultures tied to those regions. For example, Like the American South, who’s native population is distinctly American as well as being distinct ethnically. It’s distinct with country music, with a shared history & heritage, dialects, folklore, faith like the Baptist Church etc. these People exist no where else & are products of no where else but the American South. America like every other nation has a core population who are vital to its existence & who are the descendants of generations & generations of those who’s blood is soaked into the soil. To be American is to be distinctly & exclusively a product of the USA. It’s a shared history & heritage.

@jakedemaggio86492 жыл бұрын
I’ll try & help True actually, he’s wrong about Dricus but his point is true. Just moving Somewhere doesn’t make you a part of that nation. A nation is the product of the people who founded & created it. America, South Africa, Australia, China, Great Britian etc are no different. To be American or any other nation, is to be distinctly & exclusively of it, both culturally & ethnically. Someone from China moves to America or an American moves to China doesn’t make one Chinese or American. To be either is to be distinctly of that nation. To have a heritage, history & unique culture that connects you to it. A nation is a people, you can have various nations within a country or region but typically most countries have a core population or defining population that is the ethnic & cultural core of that country. They are the part of the county that are vital to its very existence. You Could have zero Nigerians ever step foot in either America or China & both countries Would still exist largly as they always have. But remove the Han Majority from China or remove the Founding Stock/Historic majority from America & there is no United States of America & there is No China. The land masses would exist, and maybe there would be some people living there but it would fundamentally be a completely different nation. Had China only consisted of the uighur minority, they would be called something else & be an Islamic & Turkic type nation, completely unrecognizable from China. Same with America, had the founding stock/ population from Western Europe (very small total region globally) not settled, Founded & created the untied states of America, USA Wouldn’t exist as a nation. There would probably be various Indian nations which would be unrecognizable from the U.S. or maybe a completely different population would of settled it and created something else. Like the core American population, they’ve been genetically isolated from their European cousins for centuries now, which is how ethnic groups are created, which is when a population is genetically isolated in a particular region. The core population has generations & generations going back centuries whose blood is soaked in the soil. Americans just to exist, Had to fight the British, The Barbary States, the Indians, The French , the Spanish, Mexicans & even each other just to exist. The descendants of those people who fought are going to be the core population of any nation. This same thing can be said for almost any country, but unlike America who had hundreds of years of ancestors fighting & creating it, some like in Europe have thousands of years. But Dricus is as African as an Australian is Australian, or as a Mexican is Mexican. Dricus doesn’t come from immigrants who just moved there, his people are the Afrikaners (who are a European descended population that came to Africa centuries ago & developed into their own ethnic group) who literally are distinctively & exclusively African, they speak their own language called Afrikaans which is only spoken in Africa, they are the ones who founded & created the South African country & many generations fought & died there to exist as a people. So comparing Dricus to any other immigrant group isn’t right.

Bro Dricus was literally born and raised in South Africa? What do you call him then? Lmao wtf and I’m also pretty sure Dricus lived in Africa for longer Usman did. Don’t get the backlash from him here.
@jakedemaggio86492 жыл бұрын
True actually, he’s wrong about Dricus but his point is true.

Oh wow tryna re write history i see, He beat the guy everyone said would be champ, Its not JUST the opponents hes fought, its the mega stories around each opponent that made the pressure so crazy. Colby was the ultimate Heel, Gilbert was the former teammate turned enemy, Jorge was the superstar that everyone wanted to win, and he beat some of those guys twice. AND he made it fun, sorry but those fights were all great (accept maybe the Jorge one)

Bad take by Usman! He’s right about just “moving somewhere” doesn’t make you truly a part of a nation. That’s obvious, which is why Usman doesn’t carry the American flag, which makes sense. But Dricus is a Boer, an Afrikaner. His people & nation are distinctly African. Dricus & Camerons people ARE NOT like Usmans. Usmans family “just moved here” to America and therefore I agree that doesn’t truly make you a part of that nation. Immigrants aren’t uniquely or distinctly a part of the nation they moved to, rather they are distinctly and uniquely a part of the nation they came from. To be South African, or American or Chinese , Australian, Mexican or Russian, to be truly a part of those nations is to be culturally both uniquely, and distinctly of those nations. That isn’t true for most immigrants, But this isn’t the case with Dricus, who is DISTINCTLY AFRICAN. How so? Because culturally the only place in the WORLD the Afrikaners & their culture exists ONLY IN AFRICA. There isn’t another country on the planet where Afrikaners exist other then South Africa. If your people & culture are products of a country outside the country your living in, then you aren’t “truly” or “distinctly” a part of that country. Not the case with Afrikaners or Boers (who are a distinct white African ethnic group) Dricus’s people The Afrikaners have their own language ONLY SPOKEN in Africa & only spoken in South Africa 🇿🇦. Dricus people came to Africa HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS of years ago, they’re blood is soaked in that soil, they fought the British, the Zulus etc just to exist. They created the greatest & most advanced nation in all of Sub Saharan Africa. They are part of the founding stock of the South African nation. The Afrikaners are a literal distinct & African ethnic group. He’s not an immigrant, it’s not the same as some immigrant that just moves there, because they’ve been there so long, that over the centuries & centuries they became a distinctly African people.
