I really hope Kevin doesn’t retire after this. He literally put it all out there purely for our entertainment… hell he even gave up a dominant top position TWICE that could’ve changed the momentum of the entire fight just to keep it a stand up war. Props to both fighters. that fight was my favorite of the year!

Someone had to save him since the ref wasn't gonna do it. Kevin quit in his last round and the ref called it off, then changed it to a timeout. Kevin was hurting and had given up.

@@libertypastor1307 I think yall exagerate because half the fight was a one sided beating imo lmao. 3 and 4 Wonderdoy was just giving a show of karate strking on a human punching bag. Holland's heart is what gave the opportunity for the this show, props to him, and round 1 was awesome and r2 was great too, but again 3 and 4 were too one sided imo. Don't ask me what would be FOTY tho I can't remember right now but on the top of my head khamzat vs burns is a contender for instance, I loved rockhold vs costa by am biased, and for sure there's a lot more contenders.

I think Kevin may've been able to submit him but kept his word and keep it standing. The damage he took towards the end of the 4th made me cry, he kept his guard up and firing back so the ref couldn't stop it. Much respect to both fighters, hope Kevin is ok

No shame in losing to wonderboy,he is an elite striker and holland still held his own and made the fight very competitive in first 2 rounds,kevin has one of the most entertaining styles in mma and i am tuning in every time he fights.

Man if you don’t grapple; these kind of fights shorten your career and effect quality of life beyond the cage. As the fan you want to see a “show” but if your like fighting you want to see all aspect shown. ✊🏽 get well to both parties hope to see them in 8 months let the head n body recover

This was my first time going to a UFC event live. My god. I lucked out getting to see this one. The energy of the crowd was insane. Mad respect to both fighters for keeping it a stand up war for our entertainment.

This fight was legendary. These guys are on another level of toughness. Beautiful fight that really could have gone both ways. I hope Holland isn't sad because about the outcome because none of his fans are. He could have choke him easily with his experience in Jiu Jitsu but he knows it wouldn't have been fair. Two winners for me. Even with a loss he put out a fight that impressed me more than any other this year.

What I believe actually hurt Kevins hand was when he landed that right in the first that hurt thompson and in slow motion it looked like he tweaked his wrist. Then combined with all the kicks he ate really damaged is power hand and completely changed the fight, a little unfortunate but it is what it is

Holland's team did him the big favor by stopping the fight, which Tony's team didn't do against Gaethje and instead wanted him to get killed. Fun fight, but stupid of Holland to not go for ground and pound damage when he got the 2 takedowns...

Kevin Holland already stated that they will not play the ground game multiple times before the fight. Both fighters want a pure striking match. Kevin knew he would easily win if he applied wrestling but didn't to give the fans entertainment and most importantly, respect for his opponent Thompson. Heck, I can argue, Kevin will easily win Round 1 with Jiu Jitsu alone. Looks like you're the stupid one for not following up any of their conversations

@@haklaz352 yeah none of them have good ground game. Holland’s coach told him during the fight “to turn it into an MMA fight,” I think meaning to take it to the ground. Holland literally did try a couple times after that to take it to the ground but was unsuccessful

I kinda feel like Kevin might be done, I think he actually dog walks Thompson if he just used his ground game but the fact that he gave us this crazy foy fight kinda makes me think he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. Super bummed if so bc I actually think he couldve been a top 5 maybe even champ at 170. Props to Wonderboy tho best fight I've watched in a while

That was career altering damage done by WB. Holland is gonna be out for at least a year. Actually really sad for Kevin. And you know he’s hurting really bad right now. He should’ve been knocked out fifteen times. That jaw might’ve been cracked by WB along with orbital bones and hand fractures along with possible forearm fracture. Holland won’t recover from this. God damn that was brutal

Holland is such a G. Took that Khamzat fight on a day notice while he was preparing for a boxer all camp. And then gave up top position against Steven just to give the fans a better fight. Really hope he doesn't retire
