He arguably won the first fight as well, he was outstriking the hell out of Usman in that one, but Usman got the W because of takedown and control time (which was a big factor in those days).

@@Bofa99 where are you getting this from? The stats I just looked up were usman 48 to Leon's 26 significant and total strikes was usman 126 to Edwards 36. Let's not forget usman had almost 11 minutes of control in a 15 minute fight. The fact that you said he arguably won and outstruck him is insane when the stats say otherwise.

facts, usman had no answer after that, takedowns are usman bread and butter. he feeds off those takedowns to implement his striking. shavkat, colby or jorge his next opponent. i personally prefer jorge masvidal, colby does seems like a interesting match up lowkey

I'm interested in the Khamzat matchup the most. Khamzat is a lot faster shooting takedowns than Kamaru and moves a bit better on the feet, too. I'd be interested to see how Leon fares against Khamzat abilities. The only thing is UFC, or the fans can't fully trust Khamzat to make the weight, so I think you do Khamzat vs. Colby next and winner gets title shot.

You can tell he definitely got a confidence boost from the second fight. That was the missing piece of his game IMO, he's got talent and all the skills but the mentality wasn't quite there. Now I think its there.

Leon Edward’s story is incredible. He’s making all doubters eat their words. At a point in time he had the worst luck in the Ufc. Every time he would win a fight it would surrounded with skepticism. Now, he has just cemented himself as the greatest welterweight on the planet and he’s only getting better. I hope his championship reign lasts a while. Also, hats off to Usman for being a class act in defeat.

The first putting him to sleep and the second winning convincingly. He won while having a point deducted that’s a big deal. I can’t name any other welterweight better than him currently.

He was incredibly patient. Not only did he knock out Kamara Usman but he did something even more impressive, he out scored him as well. Which seemed like an impossible feat knowing how well rounded Usman is.

Leon did everything perfectly, controlled the clinch, attacked his legs and body with kicks knowing usman will focus more on blocking the head. Even though he was pressured constantly he moved quick on the feet and was dangerous in every exchange. No need to mention the excellent defensive wrestling, but it is actually the most impressive thing about his performance. Usman looked good, Leon looked better. We got ourselves a real champion lads!

Leon fought who he normal does. Very patient, precise, and knows how to win without overdoing things. I will say that fence grab wasn’t cool but he made up for it. I’m glad he keep the belt. Now his legacy is set forever. This makes the WW division way more interesting

bro there both two company men jon jones fight was rigged because ciyral gane is a company man same as this fight kamuru usman suppose to be a collegiate wrestler he should of easily finished those shots he could have switched to a single and finish but he was acting like some scrub wrestler i could have finished those shots this is rigged all these sports are rigged some fights are not rigged but that one was rigged there both gonna get another fight and get paid.

At last Leon did not fight with that too passive style he had , I knew the confidence was gonna have an effect on his style he was gonna come out aggressive and throw without worrying too much like he did in past fights , easily one of his best performances.

I said that Usman is no joke beforehand, and I would have been a fan under normal circumstances. However, seeing a kid from Birmingham, where I'm from and knowing who his father was, I felt immensely proud when he won the belt, and tonight I was rooting for him to show that it wasn't a fluke. What a guy, man, and I hope that a few kids on the verge of going down the wrong path have watched what he's done, and maybe they think I can do that. Also, I greatly respect how Usman took the defeat and his words in the ring after the fight. Truly a class act. Both these guys are what men should be, real warriors ( not stabbing and shooting, but humble and respectful. Usman not playing it safe and trying to take it to the ground was Leon’s luck. Second fight Usman was not the same person. Whether he was hurt or just not motivated was also Leon’s luck. Like how Jordan had Pippen and Jackson, that was his luck. Luck and timing is what separates everyone believe it or not.

I'm a big fan of Usman, but I just love the fact that there are so many other championship fights that can be made now at 170. The division seems "wide open" now, even though I think Leon has the skill to beat almost all challengers.

To be fair, he was easily dominating Diaz up to that point. Was almost like his previous fight against Usman, where he was being dominated but got that famous head kick to land for the win. Difference is that Nate didn't immediately follow up and allowed Leon to recover enough to last out the fight.

I cant even be mad at the decision even tho i lost some money lol but at the end of the fight i thought Leon did enough to win he was up on the significant strikes 120-87, he was up more than enough that the point they deduct him dint even matter. Leon was a huge underdog both fights and proved many of us wrong. We gotta give credit when its due and Leon deserves it. Im still an Usman fan till the end, not just a great fighter but also a great father to his beautiful daughter. But man they gave us a trilogy to remember forever❤. Respect to all the figthers and what they go through just put this amazing show for us fans🔥
