the judging was correct to be honest. it doesnt matter if you dominate two rounds and lose three rounds closely. the fight is not scored as a whole. and he even got the 10-8 by two judges although the damage was not very significant in round 5. i think a draw is the correct way to go. of course Jan felt like loosing after getting dominated the last two rounds. And casual observers don't give the same weight to the first and last round but these are the rules. look at the damage after three rounds. Jan had zero damage, ankalev two legs down and his head busted. Clearly Jan won the three rounder. two rounds domination are not enough.

Think about it anklaev NEVER shows emotion not even when he knocks someone out cold. I felt really bad for him that night cuz he’s my favorite fighter and everyone throws that word robbery out so loose that was a CLEAR robbery, if you look at the end they even show the stats. More significant strikes, more control time and more takedowns they show you. And he still gets robbed. I Damn near almost shed a tear for my boy that man deserves the belt

That is not true. Ankalev lost the first three rounds based on the damage that was caused clearly. After that he started grappling and even scored a 10-8 in the last round being lucky that Jan totally overreacted. If he wouldn't have gone down by this. We tend to score the last rounds stronger than the rest, but this is not the rulebook.

Man showed great IQ and adaptability and on top of everything, will to survive. Isn't that the nature of sports at the highest level? Not every fight has to and should be a wild fight. Even if you somehow give R3 to Blachowicz, there is no case to be made for rounds 1, 4, and 5 with R5 likely being a 10-8 as Blachowicz had zero offense and was very close to having the fight stopped. @@GothicLeviathan What can I say, judges got R1 wrong. Ankalaev had more total and significant strikes than Blachowicz by a comfortable margin with no decisive damage advantage either way. Yes, the leg kicks were heavy and effective in R2 and early R3, but to what end? Only this: shifting the fight to a place where Jan had zero offense and got taken apart for over 2 rounds-culminating in him being about 3 headshots from having Goddard waive him out. For damage to really count in a decisive fight altering way it has to turn the fight in your favor not be the prelude to you getting completely dominated for over 10 minutes.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t see this as a robbery. I had Ankalaev winning, but there’s a difference between a robbery and a disagreement with the decision. All of the judges score cards were justifiable. The first round could have gone either way, but I had Ankalaev. 2nd and 3rd were clearly Jan’s, and the 4th was Ankalaevs. The 5th was clearly Ankalaev too but I can easily see why some judges would think 10-8, and some would go 10-9. The scorecards all were justifiable so a split draw isn’t the atrocity that people are making it out to be. All comes down to who you gave round 1 to and whether round 5 was a 10-8 or a 10-9.

@@aleksashkoeblanov2060 its insane, jan had 1 significat strike in the last 2 rounds, O N E , it could easily be a 10-8 10-8 last 2 rounds, its insane that its ankalaev barely made it to split decision by winning the 5th 10-8 lmao, holy

@@aleksashkoeblanov2060 Its like its based on rounds, not total significant strikes, takedowns and ground and pounds. Jan clearly won first 3, Ankalaev last 2. Fair draw compared to the Pimblett fight.

Jan is a great man, most would claim the victory but he's honourable enough to admit he did not win. A rematch is needed now unfortunately.
