Ank walked alex down all night, striking with him, the only one who made this fight borin was alex the supposed greatest striker, scared to engage, on the back foot the whole fight. all this whilst ank was at 60% you 8ers r sumthin to behold The commentary team, wow, their commentary bias was like nothing i've seen before, lost a lot of respec for rogan and dc. and finally, that magic stuff dont work on Mzlmz, theres a famous clip where on of these magicians said their magic works on everyone except practicin Mzlmz, like they had a protection around them. Not to say Mzlmzs dont lose, just saying the extra help ppl say Alex uses, didnt work

Even if there's zero takedowns, wrestling can still be a big reason for the outcome, because this is MMA. Threat of takedown is a huge factor and only exists when facing a skilled wrestler.

It takes two to tango as the saying goes. Yes he didnt take him down, but im pretty sure in wrestling settings and not mma, alex would be finished. In strictly kickboxing, alex would potentionally win as he wouldnt have the fear of his legs being taken from underneath him. But ank showed good stand up imo.

@@HotTakesBoxing Agree Pereira looked flat. Something was def off. Bad night 4 him, but watching the fight two times I believe Alex edged it out on points. Don't count hugging your opponent that much active control and dominance. And fighting for the belt, I think as a contender you should win in a more dominant fashion. Overall a pretty boring fight. In my book the belt is in the wrong hands.

I was one of the only MMA channels that predicted Magomed to beat Alex by decision pretty much purely striking. So many people were dismissing Magomed saying he had no chance on the feet and that he was going to desperation wrestle for 25 minutes. I flat out said that would not happen.
