He already had a paid interview lined up but Ariel was trying to persuade him to cancel that interview and go on Ariel’s show instead. Which Paddy doesn’t get paid for, but Ariel does because he’s contracted with BT Sport. At least know some facts before spewing bs.

Most ufc fighters wouldn't be so dumb as to alienate themselves from the best mma exposure out there in Ariel Helwani. Especially when you read the comment section of therapy couch brett going through his questionnaire with paddy. It's absolutely epic how many people are annoyed with boring brett who never seems to know anything about the fighters or the fans, and wish Ariel or DC or literally anyone else was doing the interview. 6:46 - for people that don’t know. Dr Usman Sajjad is a testosterone specialist based in the UK. Back in early October there was a huge U.K. boxing event scheduled. Conor benn Vs Chris Eubank jr. Conor benn popped for PED’s just days before the fight. It then came out that Conor was a client of Dr Usman Sajjad. Paddy is also a client of this man. It’s interesting that paddy seemed to get so triggered by the question.

My issue is that Paddy has 22 professional fights, including multiple title defenses in Cage Warriors. He’s on his 4th fight, with 3 finishes, and he’s still fighting low level competition. Alex Perriera was 6 fights into his MMA career and decided to say “f it, I’ll get in there with a prime Izzy.” I’d respect him more if he fought better competition.

Ariel replied to paddy's slander and bullying with what has got to be the best, on the nose mma hour I've ever heard. Ariel absolutely destroyed dana, paddy and his manager, and he did it with kindness. I'll be rooting for Jared Gordon. If he can't get the job done, then I'll be laughing when anyone in the top 10 or top 5 makes paddy look like that New Jersey girl made the meatball look 😵. Way to not be a bully paddy. You've been exposed. Hopefully you learn how not to act from this and who is and isn't your actual freind. It's pretty obvious that dana and your manager are only using you, and will only let you get ahead if you stoop to their level of conduct. Wake up, lad. 🤨

He's going about this at the right pace. He just started with the UFC. It would be dumb to fight top 5 contenders right out the gate. Look at Michael Chandler. Probably would have a better record if he took his time and earned a top contender fight.

Comparing Chandler to paddy is criminal, chandler had proven that he is a quality fighter prior to coming to the UFC, he had beaten UFC champions. Chandler even with his losses, he has more credit amongst the fans, smarter strategy and chandler could’ve won those fights.

@@qm6595 I wasn't comparing them as fighters. Just their trajectory in the UFC. Regardless of how well they did in other promotions. I don't think Paddy is ready for top ten fighters in the UFC. And I don't think Chandler was quite ready for the top 5 fighters. Chandler should've took his time and earned a proper title. He was asking for a title fight after only one win almost every fight. He needs to have more consecutive wins in my opinion to get a title shot. O'Malley was going about this the right way but I think the criticisms and ego got to him. Especially after the Chito fight I lost respect for him. He's clearly not ready for a title shot.

@@qm6595 btw I wouldn't call Chandler smart. He has potential but he's fighting too much to entertain the crowd and not defending himself well against punchs. He's actually fighting the same way as Paddy but with less success. Paddy's defense is horrible and always has his chin up, eating too many punchs. They both need to make adjustments. Looking for the KO finish isn't always going to work.

Not that Paddy didn't seemed focus'ed before but this press conference he really seems locked in and is eager to show what he's been working on in training. If he shows out here I think they start booking him rank climbing fights. Nothing Crazy like O'Malley Yan but I can def see them giving him those fights soon. Lightweight is still a stacked division, but would love to see Paddy vs some of the legends.
