Justin had the heart to win last time but he didn’t have all the tools. Now he has all the tools, now he’s got 5 years of war wisdom under his gloves and this fight couldn’t be more evenly matched these days. Love Dustin, I know he’ll bring the smoke, Justin wants it all too. We win no matter who wins. This is my favorite fight of the year already

What made the 1st fight competitive was Justin's recklesness, that's what you need to do against Dustin. If he goes into the rematch calm and collected, he'll get picked apart by Dustin.

I feel like this rematch between Dustin and Justin will be a much more technical fight than the first one, but I believe Poirier's still gonna get the win in the end either by decision or TKO late in the fight

I find that unlikely. Gaethje is wayyyy too different. I think the adjustments he made will make it so Poirier cant finish him, he will hurt him, but Gaethje was hard to put away when he wasnt trying to defend himself, Dustin isnt finishing him now, he will use footwork, and clinch, and with that granite chin he will be there for the duration. I also think gaethjes sheer damage output will make it hard to score rounds for Poirier, the late ones in particular. Poirier will be much more swollen and bloody. Could be a very close decision win for either, but if its dominate in some way, likely decision by gaethje. Very unlikely to see a finish by either.

If we're gonna have this goofy BMF belt then it did indeed HAVE to be these two fighting for it. Just because they're not the absolute best of the best (couldn't beat Khabib or Charles, don't think they could beat Islam or Volk either), they deserve to be every bit as highly celebrated as those champs for their bodies of work. They've been entertaining us with incredibly consistent elite-level savagery for years. Plus they're both unusually honest and humble - I think they can afford to be vulnerable where most cannot, because no-one can doubt their toughness and heart.

The first fight was amazing I believe this second fight will be amazing as well. I love both of these Fighters I cheer for both of them they are two of the most deserving fighters in the UFC for a title they just haven't had enough luck to hold the belt period. Yet? I hope we have a battle and I hope neither of them gets seriously hurt and hope that they can remain friends after the fight.

Tough call. They say Gaethje is hungrier. Think they are both in a similar position. Gaethje is predictable, all heart, while Poirier is far more technical, higher fight IQ. Dustin will win again.

I love the style of fighter both these guys are, but can’t help but think Gaetche not incorporating his d1 all American wrestling background into his mma style was the biggest waste of talent the UFC has ever seen. He really looks like he’s never wrestled a day in his life watching him fight. If he kept up on his wrestling and tied in bjj submissions the threat of the takedown would open up his opportunities to do so much more with his hands and those vicious leg kicks. He has the best leg kicks in the division if not the company. The walk em down dog fight style is exceptional and another level of violence, but I just can’t help but think how much more success he would have found if he utilized the wrestling base. It’s going to be a great fight, and the leg kicks are masterful I just wish he would have spent more time on sharpening his ground game instead of relying on his toughness.

"It's win by any means" is, I hope, not really correct. "Win with any legal technique" is more correct, considering that Dustin has complained about Chandler and (I think) McGregor cheating in fights. Too many fighters use cage grabs, fingers in gloves, and "accidental" eye pokes and groin shots to change the direction of a fight.

The elevation is going to play a big factor in this fight, I'm not saying Poirier loses because of it but Justin is use to the higher elevation and dense oxygen, Poirier trains at around 13' above elevation. I'm going Gaethje for the win.
