@DanaWhite You guys should put a floor padding around the slap area so the guy can fall softer and not have his head bang off the ground more. It would be a good saftey feature. And show commissions you are trying to be as safe a possiable.

This feels so bad, i imagine that the trauma and risk of severe injury is really high. Also the contestants don't seem to be people who have had an easy life, mostly doing this out of desperation or hoping to make something out of their difficult circumstances. Just a huge loss for the UFC for doing this, they probably don't even get paid enough to retire after a long "career".

the "slappers" don't get penalized for stepping-in or palm clubbing their opponent. The "rules" are not enforced and those that ignore them are rewarded. This creates massive liability. this show will end when someone gets a grievous injury / dies, and is sued through the nose. I hope Dana White is ready to lose a lot of money.

In mma people get hammer fisted by Francis fucking ngannou while already unconscious. These guys eat 3 slaps at worst. With people there to catch them if they fall. Mma fighters eat anywhere from 10-300 clean strikes in a fight. When they go down, their opening jumps on them and swings for the fences

This is the most dangerous sport in modern times and even though I’m a fan of both boxing and mma, this seems unethical and completely unnecessary. There’s no avoiding brain damage based on skill in this “sport” and I can definitely see it leading to lawsuits in 5 years when these guys inevitably develop CTE.

What a dream job! ..imagine loosing braincells for the massive pay check these guys earn... almost an entire month's rent for competing. These guys are real heroes and athletes. True role models... not to mention the lavish lifestyle the pay can provide... I could definitely see some of these guys eventually being able to afford their very own bus passes!

Just so you know - last year we had a fatal brain injury after a slapping contest that took place in Poland. I actually met the guy who passed away... a fucking mountain of a man, but one slap was all it took to send him to his death.

Every neurologist will tell you that even in Soccer you shouldn't do headers, and let's not talk about American football or rugby in terms of CTE.

@@crapdelac115 If I squint I can almost see the logic in that but the number one rule in any combat sport is "Hit and don't get hit" Yeah you might get viciously knocked out in the UFC but that is what the trained athlete is trying to stop from happening.This is something where the rules are forcing you to take head trauma against your will. It's not combat and it's not a sport. It's a party game so stupid most freshman need about 12 beers before they think it's a good idea.

All of these guys have been competing in slapping events since way before Power Slap, all Dana is doing is providing a bigger platform and a bigger paycheck than the one they used to get in other slapping events, regardless if you consider it "a lot" or not.
