I remember watching this fight with my Dad back then on TV 2016 saturday night, feels like yesterday. Time really flies. One of the best fights in UFC history period. 2024 My dad is no more, watching this brings me some good memories.

That hits me hard, I use to go to the game (football here in the uk) often with my dad around 2015 to 2017, and while he is here in body, he's not here in mind, he had a stroke years ago and can't remember anything anymore, of course I don't wish him passed on, but it's very hard man. Sending my love to you, I still tell my dad I love him everytime I see him, and it always surprises him.

Condit just had the misfortune of coming up when Welterweight was an absolute frickin murderer's row. In another era he probably would have been champion. But he just happened to be in the era of GSP, and prime Robbie Lawler. And even then he was still competitive with pretty much anybody in UFC.

no it isn't LOL his cardio wasn't even that good. He was more tired than Robbie was at the start and the end of the round it's his chin that is superhuman. His cardio was always great but not even close to superhuman in this fight lol

its obvious Carlos won to everyone except judges. 3-1 going in to last one... for me, Robbie took fifth and lost. Love both of these guys fighting style and heart, but Condit deserved to be the champ. Won this one 100%. Still to this day one of my favorite fights.@@dazzabazza300

Robbie 2, 3, 5. Condit wasted too much time throwing showy, meaningless kicks with no impact, while everything Robbie hit him with was actually consequential.

One of the grosses robberies in history. Carlos clearly won 4 rounds to 1. Robbie had an amazing round/strong finish in round 5 but outside that, he was outclassed. Still, great fight.

This title fight along with having a great opportunity to finish GSP in their title fight makes its hard not to feel disappointed for Condit. He was about as close as you could get to winning a UFC title without achieving it. The guy was always a gamer even going back to his WEC days and I think not getting the nod is this fight took the hunger out of him.

30 min video for one round of MMA worth watching. Four rounds of watching Lawler LARP as Rocky just getting beat on for four rounds before he actually fought back, and worse, the judges gave him the belt after that performance. Condit out worked him 5 strikes to 1, dominated him for 4 rounds and gave as good as he got when Lawler went into desperation mode. He got robbed.

Outstriking someone in every round, and for more than 3 times what they return, and then losing because judges, is numba 1 boolshet. What a way to discourage someone, and rob them of their efforts and legacy. That was 3-2 unanimous for Condit, and that's giving extreme credit to the moments of Lawler versus the eternities of Condit in dominance throughout this striking fight. Lawler had his moments, sure, but it's literally not even close, what the hell happened here.

Great fight. I love Robbie, but Carlos deserved the belt around his waist on this night. It must be heartbreaking to put on the fight of a lifetime and not walk out with the belt. He was just never on this level again after that. Still, one of the best welterweights ever in my opinion. Not to mention, one of the toughest. 46 fights - never knocked out.

@@tootiredforthis1 I hear you. Lawler Macdonald 2 is iconic, but IMO I think Lawler Condit overall is a crazier fight. The first two rounds of Lawler Macdonald 2 are a little slow, and then it gets crazy near the end of the third round. In the Lawler Condit fight, crazy shit happened in every round. Condit momentarily rocks and drops Lawler in the first, Lawler drops Condit in the second, third round is very close, Condit rocks Lawler and tees off on him against the fence at the end of round 4, and Lawler throws an onslaught of punches on a tired Condit in the fifth

This is one of the closest fights in MMA history and I think it's fitting that it gets uploaded after Strickland vs DDP. I heard a lot of people thought Condit won, and though I thought Lawler won at the time I definitely can see people giving it to Condit. Razor-thin margin where both fighters literally gave everything they had. UFC please put this fight in the Hall of Fame.

Also of course Condit landed more strikes he also only landed 35% of the strikes he threw. Lawler landed over half of his strikes. To say because on paper someone landed more they won is crazy. This is not amateur boxing.

Remember saw it live and my heart broke when Lawler got the decision. I was certain Condit won the fight. Still can't process the loss and Condit was mentally broken after the fight, never the same. To this day it pains me that NBK was never a ufc undisputed champ.

I just watched this fight for the first time Condit def won the 1st 3rd and 4 th round ,he done everything to get the title u can even see in Lawler corner or even in the 5th round that Lawler was looking for the finish cause he knews he was losing and needed a finish to keeps his belt.I respect Lawler for his carrier and wars he has been through but Condit should have been the champion. Thxs to thoses both fighters they are the best of the best of WW division in the UFC history

One of the best fights ever. I was at my grandma's with my cousin and my cousin and I were watching it. At some point my grandma started watching and she got super into it. That's how awesome it was. Fyi she thought Condit won too.

This was one of the biggest robberies EVER. Carlos CLEARLY won rounds 1, 3, and 4. The case could be made he landed more strikes for rounds 2 and 5. He definitely kanded more strikes in round 5. But even if u score it without 2 and 5. He definitley won 1, 3, and 4. I gave him 1, 3,4, and 5.

I can literally feel the exhaustion of both these gentlemen in the last remaining minute of the fifth and final round. Wow, just amazing! They gave everything for the fight fans. Congratulations to both!

Most people think Condit won. Its a shame because this was one of the best fights in UFC history, but the judges decision completely overshadowed what should be celebrated as a fight worthy of a HOF induction.
