Nah he wasn’t a contender in Bantamweight. He went 1-3 with his one win against Pedro Munhoz being very controversial, and all 3 of his losses were knockouts.

@@DopeBoy-yq6el I mean now he does but he ied tobe really good, kinda like how Tony Ferguson, Dom Cruz kinda fell off too. We will see if Nate wins his fight and his brother is fighting Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match then will be back to MMA. They just love fighting.. also Chael Sonen and Anderson Silva had a draw boxing match recently and it was a banger.

@@DopeBoy-yq6el Hell nah put some respect on the mans name! Frankie was beating titans in his prime and he was always the smaller fighter. The man became world champion in a weight class he had no business fighting in, the only reason he fought at light weight is because he wanted to become a UFC world champion and 155 was the lightest weight at the time. Defended lightweight title three times, fought for the title four more times after that, and fought the best of the best his entire career. I'd say he was pretty good mate but to each their own I guess.

Yeah, he would have been undisputed if he fought at 130 pounds category instead of 150. He would be bigger and stronger than 100% of everyone there, and for someone who was used to fighting bigger than him opponents, he would have been a serious menace at this weight.

Frankie was/is such a tough fighter. For the majority of his career, he fought up in a big way. It was such a pleasure, watching his movement, footwork, and boxing develop over the years. Mixed in with his wrestling. It made him pretty damn elusive. Another one of those trilogies that doesn’t get talked about enough.

Call me crazy, but instead of dropping to 35, I think Edgar should have moved back up to 55 to end his career. He wouldn't have been a title contender at that point but I think he could have gotten a few decent wins before retiring. His chin would have potentially held up better without the weight cutting and he would have been faster than a lot of the division.

The commentators big noting that Gray didnt blow his wad in round one like he did their last fight ... then he proceeds to hit cruise control for the next two rounds & get finished in the 4th - speed absolutely killed in this fight. I still remember Gray being on the receiving end of a size mismatch when TJ Grant moved down from WW & literally used Gray's MO against him & stopped him - nothing funnier than a bully getting bullied & having absolutely nothing to offer back

Frank could have fought at 130 pounds with ease if he wanted and he would have been a beast at this category. He is not even beefed up with muscles to be fighting at 150 against guys with way more reach. Would be understandable if he was a walking tank to compensate for his lack of height and reach but his physique is very average at this weight.

Great fight by Edgar. Terrible reffing by Rosenthal. Maynard’s entire strategy from R2 on was to keep Edgar out of range by extending his fingers towards Edgar’s eyes every time Edgar came in for a strike or a takedown. Rosenthal saw it and asked Maynard not to do it, but never gave a stern warning and never got Maynard’s respect, so Maynard ignored him and kept doing the same thing. The ref needs to be in control for fighter safety.

I was thinking a bit the same way at times - particularly when we missed the uppercut that started the finishing sequence. However, Frankie moves quickly & unpredictably, so the camera director doesn't know what's coming, and this was a live telecast (hence no post-production video mixing). We all got more than we paid for here.
