@lilmanq7746 nah he was like that before it's just he never would speak about it. In some early embedded episodes he was going to church a lot I remember. His wife is very religious I think which also intensified his beliefs

Robbie Lawler's resurgence and eventual title win is one of my favorite comeback stories in MMA. He left the UFC and fought for smaller organizations before coming back to the UFC. Rory MacDonald was seen as the future and GSP's protege who would carry the torch

You can't categorize Mousasi and Rory together. They are totally different. Mousasi has a lot more accolades in MMA as opposed to what Rory achieved. I respect the hell out of Rory and always liked him, but I really don't think you can categorize him as a legend in the sport.

Mousasi even has a win over Mark Hunt, who is two weight classes heavier than him. Also... Rory didn't have any kind of win streak in the elite of the sport as Mousasi did. Saying that Mousasi and Rory achieved the same is ridiculous lol.

Watched it again on May 15th 2025. 10 years later, this fight remains one of the bloodiest battles ever. One of the few fights where no matter who won, neither fighter really lost.

I can clearly remember Firas Zahabi corner advice after round 3. "You're figuring him out, I want you to circle, breathe and finish him." Rory went for the finish, blew his whole gas tank at the start of the round 4 and after that it was a matter of time before Robbie hunts him down. Nobody ever talks about that corner mistake... 😁
