He’s not my favorite fighter, but he is to some of my friends, and it’s because of where he came from and his general personality. I’m shy but have my black belt in karate before moving on to kickboxing, so GSP resonates with me and is my favorite. People that grew up from nothing fighting on the streets love Jorge, he is their idol. He’s a good fighter, but you’re correct he’s overrated in the cage. I just don’t think people are drawn to him for his fighting prowess alone.

@PPV PLUG 165 is a pipe dream for dummies who dont think before talking. Literally wouldn't solve ANYTHING. You would just have more guys moving around divisions looking for an easy path to a title. Would make WAY more sense for the ufc to add a cruiserweight division between LHW and HW since there's a 60lb Gap. Then all the lower divisions could gradually migrate up. The biggest LHWs could move to CW, which would allow the biggest MWs to move to 205, etc

@@dangerousfelon no it’s not lmao. There’s guys who are too small for 170, yet too big for 155. It’s a 15 pound difference and not everyone fits perfectly. That’s why you see most guys in their own respective weight classes in boxing, nobody’s really a HUGE weight bully like they are in the UFC. Adding a 165 division and turn 170 into 175 would be great for the UFC. Guys like Kevin Lee, RDA, masvidal, burns could’ve fought in that division. They’re too big for 155 yet they’re undersized at 170, not just weight but giving up height. Fighters have also asked for a 165 division, pettis asked, Conor was interested, Lee was interested. You’re acting like it’s normal to have a 15 pound difference in weight between 2 weight classes, that’s a good amount of weight. Some of the guys between both divisions don’t belong there, I’ve been thinking this thru for years, so don’t try to say I’m just spewing BS.

Creating a new division between two current divisions to accommodate a few whiny guys is dumb. Creating a cruiserweight division would have a much greater impact on the ufc and would affect infinitely more fighters. All of those guys you listed could easily fight at 170 once the migration upwards begins. The top LHWs would all go to CW, the top MWs to LHWs, the top WWs to MW and the top LWs to WW and so on. It would fix the issue You're talking about as well as the issue HUNDREDS of other guys are having. Your stupid solution only benefits a few guys lmao.
