Tony went 15-1 in his first 16 UFC fights and finished 10 of his 15 wins, the most underrated run of all time. Still out of his prime his UFC record is 15-4 and he has 11 bonuses in 19 fights, certified HOFer and one of the best fighters of all time.

well said sir. Tony ran through the lightweight division and did the Champ's job of beating contender after contender. After slaughtering Barboza he already deserved a title shot but he didnt get it. From then he beat Vannata, Dos anjos, Lee, Pettis and Cerrone, capturing interim gold in the process got stripped for NO FCKING REASON (only pulled out from ONE fight) and never got his opportunity to prove he was the best in the world. Truly and embarassment situation from the ufc and it sucks cause he is my fav fighter. CSO
@kevinfreitas6832
@kevinfreitas6832 3 жыл бұрын
@@mp0039 What they should've done was strip Conor, promote Tony (cuz he deserved it) and make Khabib vs. Iaquinta for interim since it was for a belt. Then have Tony face Khabib (if that were even possible, cuz of the curse), then make Conor wait for whoever comes out on top, cuz WE ALL KNOW to this day that Prime Tony had the best chance against Khabib. And now he's being fed to Chandler instead of fighting Conor, the guy who ruined the lightweight division for a year and a half.

And then Tony went on to defeat Khabib in a one-sided 5 round beatdown, making him verbally tap from 15 consecutive ankle-picks. He would later defend the belt 12 times. Among the victories: Gaethje (x2), Oliveira, Dariush, McGregor, Hasbulla riding Islam, the Bear that trained Khabib, Jon Jones' skeleton, and Ngannou in his lightweight debut after losing both legs after DC ate them. The end.

Do Bronx is my 2nd favorite fighter after Tony. Hes not as tough or as durable, but very similar stylistically.....game to fight anywhere the fight goes, takes a ton of risks and never point fights. Doesnt fear the takedown one bit and isnt scared to stand and bang. El Cucuy and Do Bronx....ALWAYS going for the kill anywhere the fight goes.

@M Harish Did you not watch the Usman/Woodley and Usman/Covington fights? The Woodley one was complete domination and the Covington one was a war that he brutally stopped in the fifth.

@samcooke343 5 жыл бұрын
@M Harish Hugged him to a decision? We obviously weren't watching the same fight. He completely dominated Woodley from start to finish and threw almost 400 strikes. And the Covington fight wasn't a war just because of animosity, they were both incredibly high-level wrestlers and didn't want to chance grappling with each other, so it stayed on the feet. Usman's output and power won him that fight.

He gave up his position to fight khabib as he could have waited out for the pandemic to cool down but he made weight TWICE and fought an absolute monster in justin gaethje who has a completely different style than khabib and a very dangerous striker. He went down and lost his streak but we love him as he gave up his streak for the love of the fight game and he had too much heart and courage for his own good. Never missed weight never backed down from any fight. Win or lose tony will always be one of my favourite fighters.

Tony was just outdated. I heard tony got updated to TONY TIME 2.0 after the dariush fight. So pretty sure hes gonna be ready for another 12 fight win streak. Dont worry brother the TONY TIME 2.0 update is pretty good, some people say its made him better than that makeshift russian lawnmower kabab 3000.

@@justmytwocents5166 hes not looking past this Gaethje fight at all. He isn't interested in khabib anymore (or maybe for the time being?) and anyone else in the division is a step down. There isnt any one particular fight or fighter for him to look through Gaethje to get to.

If there's one thing I learned from Tony's career it's the importance of mental health. How do you go from longest win streak in the division to the longest losing streak? CTE + depression is no joke and I hope Tony recovers.

@Silvio Berlusconi I agree that he would have been a better match up for khabib stylistically, but that's not Justin's fault lol! Blame the UFC for never giving him a shot beforehand! I'm a big fan of Tony and Justin, they're both incredible fighters.
