@@kevinhallnoates5593 no son, let me teach your bum ass few facts. Stipe was one of the most active UFC hw fighters prior to his trilogy fight with DC. Se lets look why he suddenly "stopped" fighting: First fight was 6 months after his fight with Francis(so we already see he aint inactive because he wants to) Second fight happened so late because fake guy named DC tried his best to fight Brock Lesnar and after 8 months finally accepted to rematch Stipe Third fight happened so late because Stipe had SURGERY because DCs fat fingers poke him too deep and then freaking PANDEMIC hit so everything got delayed. Hes too much of a grounded guy.Stays in Ohio,came from Cleveland hes a firefighter and just a normal guy that's a tremendous fighter and best in his weight class. But if you meet him and Francis Ngannou it's two different things ya know. From Cleveland myself but Stipe still is the goat
@KannyNguyen
@KannyNguyen 3 жыл бұрын
I think mostly because HW is the most shallow male division. It's a bunch of old guys who passed their prime, and lack of new talents. If Overeem, JDS, Oleinik, Arlovski, etc were lightweights they would retire a long time ago. That's why a lot of people don't appreciate Stipe's resume. Personally Stipe is #1 HW goat to me. Yes, over Velasquez. Now we're seeing a couple new talents in the HW division, I think many old fighters will be released soon just like Overeem and JDS.
@TheStraightestWhitest
@TheStraightestWhitest 3 жыл бұрын
@@KannyNguyen But it's actually not shallow. Volkov, Gane, Rozenstruik, Lewis, Blaydes, Ngannou, Stipe, and up until recently DC, all of these guys would annihilate anyone from any other division save maybe the absolute top tier light heavyweights such as Jan and Reyes. Yes much of that is because of weight, but people are quick to forget that heavyweight has a ton of freedom when it comes to weight. You wanna come in at 220? You can. You wanna walk around at 300 and cut to 265? You can. That by itself creates variety. People don't need to be as specific in what talent they go with if they have that much freedom with their bodies. If you fight at 155, everyone is the same weight. You cannot have any advantage over them besides skill. That's why it seems more nuanced. It isn't. It's a different kind of nuance.
@tcmx712
@tcmx712 3 жыл бұрын
@Emerson Amaya heavyweight is highly skilled it's just different as they can't do all that fancy stuff the smaller guys do as all it takes is 1 shot to finish the fight. Those smaller guys can take bigger risks and throw crazy combos or be willing to take a shot to go for takedown because they have pillow hands in comparison
@abhishekab1
@abhishekab1 3 жыл бұрын
@Emerson Amaya Interesting discussion. Its also to do with sheer size. Variety of Skills plays much less of a role at HW, when you can shut the lights out at any time. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying they don t matter. Also, it is much more common to find people of normal size than absolute beasts, so naturally, the sample space for Talent pool of unusually big men is smaller compared to regular fellows :)

@@user-tu4ve3lo1v DC was dominant in round 1. He also won round 2, but it was at least somewhat competitive. I had Stipe winning round 3 and, if memory serves correctly, so did two of the judges. If, somehow, DC had survived round 4, it would've been a 10-8 round for Stipe. Thus, it would've been Stipe's fight to lose in the last round, and he was by far the fresher fighter at that point.

To me, Stipe-DC 2 had the kind of cinematic plot that you normally only see in boxing/MMA movies: 1. The champ (at the time) gets off to a fast start, and the challenger faces an uphill battle. 2. A brutal back and forth war of attrition ensues in the middle rounds, with both fighters taking damage. 3. A key strategic adjustment is made by the challenger in the late rounds, exploiting a previously unknown weakness in the champion. 4. And finally, a devastating knockout victory, capping off what initially seemed to be an improbable comeback.

Read this in Chael Sonnen’s voice But the real question here is the Firefighter with the immigrant matality who’s a father who also steams on Twitch on his free time wins? or The man who was a mud Miner with one of the saddest stories you’d probably ever hear and has been through some crazy sh!t in his life,he also scares 99% of humanity with his punching power plus his power has increased a bit from a Ford Escort to a 2000HP Dodge Viper ACR because he’s gotten a lot better and not too mention his voice is very soothing,his teammates punch him with all their power with him wearing pads and he feels nothing I all wonder what would happen if he punches them back does he take the win home?
