Jones is about 220lbs before cutting weight, prime Cro Cop was around 225lbs and had alot of success at HW. Bones just needs to add a little more mass and he will be an average size HW, if he adds on about 15lbs he will weigh the same as the champ JDS. Its obvious that his size his what has made him so dominant, sure he is very talented...but he made 3 of the Top 5 LHW's look like amateurs, if he beats Rashad/Davis winner then he's basically beaten all of the best LHW's and needs to move up.

What's not to like about Jones? He is a phenom. He seems to be very respectful to his opponents, the UFC and it's leaders, and the art of combat. He is growing as a fighter and as a man (24 yrs old) I honestly would like to see him have continued success I thought his statement about how he was going to change forever after this fight was the ultimate compliment to Machida.

If you guys didn't catch the promos before the fights, Dana said no one has defended the title MORE THAN ONCE since liddell.... -Jackson defended it once, then lost to Griffin -Griffin lost to Evans -Evans lost it to Machida -Machida defended it only once to Rua, then lost the second matchup against Rua -Rua lost it to Jones -Jones has now defended it twice. Make sense?

Jones v.s Rashad would be an incredible fight, I feel that Rashad has better boxing than Jones, but Jones has the size advantage and he has better kicks than Rashad, both guys are extraordinary wrestling skills.A victory for Jones over Rashad would be huge for his career he already defended his belt against 2 really tough guys Rampage, Machida, and beat Shogun for the belt, Jones has a really bright future but he still has some tough challenges
@RajmanGamingHD

@TerbiQ Hendo vs Jones would looks like Jones vs Rampage...but quicker. Hendo has thet big right hand just like Rampage has, but he also gasses alot faster then Rampage, his wrestling isnt as good, his takedown defense is pretty meh for a so called 'Olympic' level wrestler. Jones would avoid that obvious right hand woth his his huge reach advantage and breake hendo down for a submission.

Man I think fight of the night should have gone to the Mir-Big Nog fight. What asubmission. My problem with Jone's opponents is that they were intimidated by the reach advantage, Machida seems to me to be the first one step it up and that one punch in the first round did rock him.

@RYKIN5gaming
@RYKIN5gaming 13 жыл бұрын
In my honest opinion, there wasn't a lot of "torque" on the kumura from Frank. I thought he went straight to breaking the arm (or dislocating/whatever). I mean, I used to have a lot of respect for Mir, but not only the arm situation, he's denying that Nog almost had him beat. Mir was laying down on his FACE in the first round, much like Kimbo/Tank. You don't get "wobbled" and keep yourself up with your face. When you land on your face, you're completely defense-less and *OUT*.

People still complain about Jone's reach. Well let me remind you people, that having a good reach is a gift, but knowing how to use that reach is a skill that needs to be developed in the gym. Reach is just ONE attribute, just like Speed, Conditioning, and Power. It's pointless to hate on Jones, just cause life gave Jones good lemons and he made real good lemonade with it.
@Tommy9834
@Tommy9834 13 жыл бұрын
@UnTaMeDIBzT He walks around at 217, which is not exactly what you want to walk around in if your gonna fight in HW. Weightclasses are about WEIGHT, not reach. Complaining about reach is like complaining that someone is too fast or someone is too strong. It's just one of the things an opponent has to overcome.

Mostly before his fight with Rampage that he was a bit cocky, just look up any pre-fight interview and you'll see what I mean. I still like him a lot though, and now I think this fight brought him back down to earth. I think it's completely understandable and even expected for a top-level fighter to have an ego trip, especially such a young fighter that rose up to the top as fast as he did.

I think it is great that Jones is so young and popular, but doesn't let it get to his head. He may be a bit cocky, but he sure does have his priorities right, what a great guy. I honestly don't know y ppl hate on Jones. He's humble n his resume is more impressing than pretty much everyone. He's the 1st to beat Bader (via sub) he's the only fighter to destroy Shogun the way he did (via tko) he's the 1st to finish Rampage inside the octagon (via sub) n he's the 1st fighter to choke out Machida. N all of this within 10 months period with only 4 yrs training. N u guys rather cheer for Anderson who's ducking Chael n fights guys like Maia n runs away. I really don't get it

Big Nog made a BIG mistake holding onto that choke that he didnt have. im super impressed with the quick knock down by him but he easily coulda gotten the mount instead of getting reversed on the ground. i wish so bad he woulda given up that choke and took his time a little on the ground :( he rocked Mir good. i hope Nog comes back. but at least his bro kicked ass again finally

The thing I notice about all of Jones' opponents is that they have to work twice as hard as he does trying to get in and out of that reach. It'll take someone with dominant cardio and athleticism to match to beat Jones at this point in his career.

@TeamTrouble1 Agreed. UFC 140 showed that in order to have any chance of beating Jones, is you have to be a really technical striker, and while Hendo is good at what he does, his style of fighting is not that of a technical striker and it plays right into Jones.

I hate the hypocrisy in within the mma community; you guys will bash boxing for being an incomplete form of fighting, but you'll praise Royce Gracie for ONLY using Jiu Jitsu in the first UFC tournaments...what really bothers me is that mma fans are supposedly more open-minded about martial arts, but will still stick to the old formula of Muay Thai + BJJ = Best SHit EVer.

Jones only wins because of his stature. Dude is a freak of nature. He has the longest reach in the UFC (Yes, even longer than 6'11 'Stefan Skyscraper Struve'). I mean for fuck sake.. The dude just pulled off a standing guillotine on a BJJ Blackbelt/Karate Master. He only got it because of how long his arms are. I like Jones but I hate how much hype he gets, his skill is secondary to his stature. It's almost impossible for boxers to get close because of his jab/kick range.

And Jones, when Dana was asked about that fight he did not give any clear reason why it couldn't be set up and if you think about it there is no reason why this fight can't take place accept that Dana is protecting him. I believe the real reason is that Dana is a racist and does not want anyone to know just how good A.Silva really is because A.Silva would fully cement the fact that black people are clearly better fighters(and i'm not black), not trying to hate but i truly believe this.
