@echonymbus1490
@echonymbus1490 2 ай бұрын
@@sincity5268 Jones was trying to kick Machida, probably to compensate for the speed disadvantage of his punches, and to try to fill the gap between him and Machida. Machida was very evasive, and if you were to step over to him and puch he would speed blitz you with his left puch. But Machida was still waiting for Jones kicks so he would use his temporary weight imbalance to reach him with his left. Jones couldn't move or get out of position when he was kicking. Jones recognized this pattern, and set up a counter: he feinted a kick, so when Machida stepped over to him with his left he could intercept him with a puch. Look a 9:31. It's like a small superman punch: he lifts his left leg and a fraction of second after he immediately puches Machida, destabilizing him and creating the occasion to choke him after.

Well if you remember between rounds his coach said he wants to blitz you after you kick, so fake the kick and throw a 9 or a blu(which I'm guessing is a left or a right or a punch or an elbow) so that's exactly what he did. It did look like a superman punch but he actually faked the kick and as lyota went for the blitz he threw the right hand which made it like a car crash. The beginning of the end. Chefs kiss in my book

This fight was very Impressive for Jon. He was super young and green in the sport at this time. Machida was in his Prime. Jon stayed calm and was using his brain in this fight. Jons composure and ability to tap into his fight IQ during a fight is why he is the greatest. Most guys cant think straight in a battle. Not Jon. He is always thinking ahead.

@@danheald935 Listening to Jones talk through it is really something. Jones said he noticed that every time he went for a kick, Lyoto would counter him, mid-kick, with a blitz of punches to the face. At the end, he faked a kick and then came in with the superman punch. It's really something how much these guys are game planning and analyzing while getting hit.
