Werdum joins other UFC 188 fighters - including middleweight Kelvin Gastelum and strawweight Tecia Torres - for an encore viewing of UFC 180. At home in the States, the stars of the co-main event, Eddie Alvarez and Gilbert Melendez, get some last-minute motivation before their long-awaited lightweight bout. Foster McFoster Yeah I was shocked as well and that may actually mess up his cardio in high altitude he is going to feel it. I wonder how much steak he consumed and beer? You figure he would go with a clean diet till the fight is over. I am liking Cain's chances even more now that I saw that. If it goes pass 3 rounds Werdum is going to be in trouble.

mrYsignal LOL Werdum is 37 and eating bad and Cain is 32. If you are 37 and eat like that I am sorry but he will be affected if the fight goes past 3 rounds. Cain will be adjusted to the climate by fight time. As a Mexican warrior it is in his blood and Mexico City is home turf and the altitude won't affect him.

Poorna Prithvi Cain got caught in a guillotine but don't worry he will be back. Lets hope he learns because the altitude affected him and he should have been their a month but he got arrogant. Cain will be back. Cain though wasn't the only Mexican fighting on the card. Kelvin Gastelum looked great and so did Yair Rodriguez and so did Gabriel Moggly Benitez and so did Escudero and Cedejo. Cain Velasquez helped paved the way as well as Tito Ortiz and Dominick Cruz and Roger Huerta and Nick and Nate Diaz. You don't win them all but like I said Cain will be back and will claim that title back.

Fight of the Century? Well I really hope so. As a fan of the sport of MMA, there's nothing I'd love more than to see an entertaining back n forth war. I prefer that rather than a quick early finish. Sure, Cain is the big favorite (understandably so) but dont really care who wins tbh. I just want the fight to be worth mytime

Are either Melendez or Alvarez aware that they're fighting at altitude? This is a factor to consider. If they need proof, go watch the first few UFCs in Colorado.

I think Alvarez vs Melendez will be a sick fight! They are similar body types and both strikers with wrestling capabilities. Velasquez vs Werdum will be a chess match. Wrestling vs Jiu Jistu. So I have a feeling it will stay standing.

zen master - mr potato head Fighting isn't basketball. height is only one piece of a technical and strategic puzzle -- and lol muscle tone? right, because muscles were completely unnecessary in the war thriving, jaguar filled wildereness of pre spanish america. Regardless, I'd argue that speed and reflexes along with cardio are much more valuable in fighting (jones is the only champ to be considerably taller than his weight class). Lastly (history lesson) the spanish were driven out, when they came back to Mexico city, the plague had ran its course.

This is going to be a great fight. I think Cain will end up tiring out Werdum and end with a TKO or decision. But went the fight hits the ground, Werdum will have a high chance of dominating or even taping Cain. I can't wait!

Werdum is going to be a problem for Cain in every aspect of the fight. I like Cain, but Werdum is on a mission. His improvement over the last couple of years is one of the best in the game. Dude has razor sharp standup now and his ground game is from hell. Cain's never fought a guy this well rounded. Maybe his constant pressure and cardio will negate Werdum's skill set. Gonna be a grind. No one is getting KO'd in the first. Can't wait.
