Mayweather has never taken the level of challenges Mcgregor or even the overwhelming majority of MMA/UFC fighters take. It's a different ball game... Boxers cherry pick most of their fights. Pick who to fight and when to fight them. No such thing as ducking or accusations of ducking in UFC. Fighters are pretty much always matched against their worst possible opponents. Both fighters fought a good fight. Let's not forget that CM had a training camp and all the help that his money could buy. Now , in one of the pre-fight interviews , Conor said to Nate, "you're broke" . So a broke , underrated , fat contender with no training camp and 11 days to prepare beat a number 1 fighter with all the resources in the world. As far as I can see , Nate is alot tougher and a better fighter than CM.

McGregors camp prepared for an entirely different fighters style. They both had the same prep for one another. Nate is also 20 or so pounds heavier. No bias, just stating facts and putting forward the other side of the story.

Thanks Nate for shutting down that "energy" BS : 32:47 ; Nate was a better martial artist, because in a 10 days notice he whooped McGregor's ass... Boxing and Jiu-Jiutsu was two of the reasons McGregor's energy was not "efficient": - Nate's boxing destroyed McGregor, so all of a sudden he became a wrestler, but was choked out...
@Luka2023-9 жыл бұрын
Whooped ? Did you see nates face compared to Connors ? CM made a mistake that Diaz capitalised on, simple as

Just a dumb move by Conor to jump from 145 to 170. He didn't have the power nor reach to win by striking and that's actually his only means to victory. Nate Diaz has an iron chin and great overall skills to win standing or submission. Conor should go back to 145 and teach Frankie a lesson.

Connor keeps talking about fighting the "heavier man" Connor went in at 169 Nate went in at 170 there is no reason to bring weight into it if you both went in on an even playing field. if his point is he isn't used to fighting at that weight, then it's simply a reality check for him. now he has to go starve himself to make weight for the lower weight class then after weighing in gain all that weight back. atleast at 170 you go in to fight closer to the same weight you weighed in at.
@StillElias8 жыл бұрын
Babylonthegreat that's true but he has to starve himself to get to that weight. I'm sure Nate could also just starve himself and be at the same weight. But Nate fights closer to what his real weight is when he isn't in a fight. What they do to themselfs is unhealthy just so they fight lighter guys.

mhofi It makes him smart. There's so much hope over verbal fighters like McGregor and Diaz, not to mention you can really get in your opponent's head. Besides, pretty much every fighter in the UFC these days has little "soap opera" arguments leading up to fights. Makes good publicity.

Glad I bet on Diaz tonight! Im feeling McGregor Rich! ahaha But in all seriousness, great effort by both fighters, Nate Diaz is a champ and props for Conor for sticking to his word and fighting on the day he promised, up a couple weight classes. Still a super impressive athlete! I doubt the Conor train gets too far derailed to be honest. Also my celebrity crush Miesha Tate finally wins the title! (MARRY ME MIESHA) Now they can start a vicious cycle where Ronda beats Miesha to reclaim the title then Holly takes her out again then Miesha comes back and they become stuck in this time loop. Great fights UFC 196!

As a Conor nutt hugger and Holm fan, congratulations to Nate Diaz and Miesha Tate. That was an amazing card. I did not think that Nate had it in him and his performance surprised me. I seriously hope the UFC pays him better now. They have to. And Holm is an absolute warrior. She did not tap and fought well. And props to Conor for not flushing this card down the toilet. Hate him or love him, the man came to fight. He showed up and brought the crowd with him. Winners win, losers lose, but champions fight. This definitely shakes up the landscape, especially for 200. I wonder what they could possibly do now.

- So much is made of Conor going up weight, lets take a look at reality: Lets not get this Conor thing TWISTED: Don't count famed striking coach Mark Henry among those surprised to see Nate Diaz score a win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196. "People this weekend were saying how amazing Conor is by going up," Henry told John Franklin of the Sunday Morning Cornerman show. "Well, Frankie is 15 pounds less than Conor and was the 155-pound champion. People need to get that in their head when talking about this awesomeness of Conor McGregor. If McGregor is this awesome fighter for going up and getting crushed, Frankie must be the best fighter to ever walk on the planet." -"He didn't go up two weight classes," Henry said. "He fought a 155-pound fighter, and Frankie has dominated that weight class. Conor couldn't even get past the first 155-pound fighter he faced. At the end of the fight, he was saying something like, ‘I don't know if Frankie is worthy of fighting me.' I think it's the other way around. I don't think Conor is worthy of fighting Frankie."

People need to realise that McGregor is always gracious in victory and defeat. When he knocked out Aldo cold he still empathised with Aldo and said it was unfair to Aldo that he lost that quickly while Aldo was still mouthing off and saying he's lucky. McGregor is not another Rousey. At the end of the day he showed great striking in the whole fight but like he said he wasnt smart as he expended way too much energy and wasn't conservative at all. He rushed and didn't take his time and eventually gassed out. I find it incredibly weak from Aldo and others who are using Nate's victory as their own. That's pathetic. McGregor will bounce back stronger. Congratulations to Nate
