People who are booing at DC are bunch of "casual fans". You fight to win and for that you have to follow the game plan and that was his game plan.
@gaisensei71488 жыл бұрын
He didn't fight to win he fought to avoid losing. Any mma fan could see that but then there's those fans who think they're better than "casual fans" just cause they know grappling. Any grappler should know DC fought like a pussy

Silva, at 41 and on 2 days notice, managed to outclass a champion standing up. Goes to show you that still to this day Silva is on another level. Huge props to him, i don't know if anyone could've taken that fight on 2 days notice and performed that well. DC is a HW so regardless of Silva's BJJ skills it was going to be very difficult to push him off. I think the point DC is missing is that even though wrestling is his strength and he did what he had to in order to win, his belt wasn't on the line. Knowing you're going to be champion no matter what the result is and that it is UFC 200, a huge event, why not stand up more and give everyone a show? Even if you lose, you're losing to the greatest of all time. No doubt in my mind if Silva had a camp and came in a little heavier he could've walked away with a win
@Dward.452 жыл бұрын

Shut the fuck up! DC has NEVER fought like this. Being a human blanket and not trying to pass his guard and actually make a significant strike is not what he does. It definitely wasn't the most exciting fight, by Cormier saying ''I did what i had to do'' he's basically saying he would not have had a chance standing with Silva, I know we all wanna see a bloody punching fest but Cormier's a wrestler and he neutralized Silva's GOAT level striking, without having done that Silva would have possibly KO'd DC or won a decision leading in significant strikes with knockdowns etc, I didn't like the fight myself as I was honestly a little bored but at the end of the day DC did what he had to do

tysswe1 This is a fight, only who don't know nothing think it's not. So you are telling me that one like Cormier, who's much slower than Silva, with 7 inches of reach less, and with an arguable stand up game (except for the clinch), should have done a stand up fight with one of the most lethal Muay Thai fighter that ever stepped into the octagon? I see DC getting a lot of hate. DC is a world class wrestler and plays to his strengths. His fight style may be boring to the casual fight fans that want to see a spectacular KO but to others its very intriguing. The way he takes people down and holds them there takes is hard to do, Silva is a BJJ black belt and still Cormier dominated him.

2:07: "Well... accepting this fight was a great personal challenge to me... because I could put into practice what I developed during all these years, and... although I am a long time without training, well, since my surgery I didn't train at all... but this personal challenge was great for me, I hope this could be an example to all Brazilians and to everyone present here today, you can do everything you want when you have welfare in your heart... this is it." 3:10: "I am used to train with heavy guys, my master Minotauro... thanks, master! Rogerio Minotouro, Rafael Feijão, Jacaré... the next champion here, people, it's Jacaré, don't forget it, and... this is it, I am used to train, I am used to this pressure with heavier guys. I felt a bit because I am without training, for a long time... but, it was a nice test, the test was nice, I congratulate my team that helped me throughout all my way until here, I dedicate this victory to all them, because to me it is a victory, to put everything that I trained into practice, this is it... Daniel is the champion, I came here to fight him but not to disrespect him, I came to test me, to try everything I know, everything I learned into martial arts."

Ugh so frustrating to see fighters pulled over "banned" substances. Then we have crap fights like this. Jones would have KOd Daniel "Chzbgr Blanket" Cornyier!

give Silva time to train he could have beaten cormier or still lose but better
@psychopunk88178 жыл бұрын
Nah DC would have destroyed him if he really wanted to. Dana probably told him to just carry him the whole fight to make Anderson look better.
@psychopunk88178 жыл бұрын
youngbuck0911 But it's probably true. This was just a payday for Anderson.
@psychopunk88177 жыл бұрын
samsonpker You're telling me DC in the best shape he's been in for awhile, who knocked out heavyweights, couldn't just flatten out an out of shape, past his prime Anderson Silva if he wanted to??? Your just in denial about Anderson Silva.
@psychopunk88177 жыл бұрын
And by carrying him I mean not just straight up destroying him. I guarantee you Anderson wouldn't have signed onto the fight if he knew he would have to go against a DC who wanted to smash his face in so Dana told DC to take it easy on him if he wanted to fight that night.

Respect for Silva... damn. DC is not a fight most fighters would take on short notice. An aging Silva well past his prime... fights a guy over his weight class...still takes a fight on 2 days notice... Amazing.
