Little things on the ground too; not trying to just overbear him with size and strength but cautiously pushing and adjusting. Even the hand on Mir's throat so Mir is uncomfortable and not able to just look for things to grab. I was firmly on the side of you can't just jump into MMA from a standing start so I wanted Mir to win again honestly but what Brock accomplished was remarkable. @@EmperorsNewWardrobe Mostly. i think in a fight, anything can happen. 125lb women could do it, if opponent is gassed or unlucky enough to be in that very position. But yeah, the unusual size strength is definitely a factor. Same reason guys like Ngannou and Anthony Johnson obliterate people. Same tactics as others, just way more horsepower. Athletics/strength is def a tool..Mir is a BJJ blackbelt at 245 lbs.. Lesnars giant back is scary when spread out on top of you. Every single one of his short ground and pound strikes are SOOO strong, i could only imagine...This was also a grudge fight..pure malicious intent, from both guys tbh. Mir held that leg lock too long in first fight. He thought Brock was a scrub.

Based*Beerus* God-of-Seduction, I’m thinking specifically about the part where Brock puts his left arm around the back of Mir’s neck and then cranks it to the side by leaning his bully upper body to the side, forcing Frank’s upper body to turn sideways. @LINKMASTERX4 жыл бұрын
@@EmperorsNewWardrobe yeah, and i considered that in my response lol. a part of me thinks that frank also played it a little too "safe". he took heavy ground n pound in the first fight, and here he seemed too relaxed as if he were going to catch another leglock eventually..but Brocks strength clearly was the biggest factor (not complaining). it was also a smart, unusual tactic, to "hammerlock" like that. rewatch those strikes. hes angry AF and using that arm that can curl and delt raise an awesome amount of weight, im sure..

This guy has to go down as an absolute phenom. Who in the world comes out of absolutely nowhere and goes right to the very top of the game in this period of time! First UFC fight ever and you're up against a giant like Mir, a fight which even though he lost he was dominating. Then to come back and avenge his loss in this fashion! Just wow. The question will always be, what would Brock have been had he trained MMA from the outset, how far would he have risen. Surely he would've developed the all-round skillset to handle a prime Cain. Sad that we were denied that.
@laughingocelot2097 Жыл бұрын
Lol chill. Even with his so-called "freak athletics", the dude was 5-3 and honestly should have been 4-4 if the Carwin fight was rightfully called in Round 1. He had the natural ability and other things you couldn't teach but he was never able to develop a striking repertoire. The "all-time great" talk is reserved for more complete fighters who had more longevity, not celebrities who are allowed to jump the line of contenders on Dana White's orders.

Your making it sound like Brock was Fedor or something lol. Fedor was a freak so is Jon Jones. Lesnar ain't cut from the same cloth he's not a killer mentally.

@@laughingocelot2097 You and many others obviously have an axe to grind with Lesnar - but you missed entirely what I said and just made your own biased statements as reflected by the 'celebrity' jibe. Nowhere did I claim him to be an all time great - I just stated based on the performances the guy showed with limited exposure and training, to go and fight guys right at the top of the pile like Mir is staggering - can you refute that? Do you respect that? Anyway he was 4-1 prior to the diverticulitis, and was dominating the fight in the 1 loss anyway. Nobody can take that away from Brock - and the question still remains had he trained MMA from the outset and not had the diverticulitis, what he would've been able to do.

@@Djsonley For a guy to come in a ragdoll Mir, and get caught in a lucky sub by Mir, and then to rematch Mir and ragdoll him again - talking about not a killer mentally, lmao. @@laughingocelot2097 Oh and the Carwin fight - what you mean rightfully called? Carwin was beating on him with everything he got - couldn't knock him out, and after all that ground and pound, Brock just had a few minor cuts on his face, got up in the same round and pinned Carwin against the cage. With that limited damage, you want the fight called? LMAO, GTFOH. He then proceeded to dominate Carwin and tap him out - one of the guys regarded as amongst the most dangerous in the UFC at the time. @@battlerapking4646 Anyone can get lucky and KO someone; you don't luckily tap someone. You're an idiot if you think you will go into a fight without being hit, but to think that you would go into a fight, and be subbed based on luck, would be like your opponent winning the lotto. If you think that's what happened hear, you didn't win the cognitive lottery. I know it's more complicated that all of that, but only to a relative degree.

Brock is the perfect example of being introvert and deadly at the same time. Never mess with a guy who hates being around people.
@olisk-jy9rz4 жыл бұрын
At the same time, he's a natural showman. He projects carisma and raw energy. There's no comparison between him shouting ridicolous catchphrases in a mic and any other heavyweight before or after awkwardly mumbling into the mic

David Cooper he was eating punches like that all fight, he hesitated because Mir put his hand to block some of the blows which would be considered a defensive move. It’s hard to tell when someone is laying down and being covered up like that all fight exactly how much damage is being done. It’s easy to say after we watch a replay of it 5 times and in slomo, but real time it happened in about 3 seconds and the ref was a bit conditioned to it as it happened all fight except this time a finish was involved.
