Overeem's a very self conscious individual. For the first time in a while he's going up against someone a lot more muscular than he is so it's probably messing with his head a bit. He probably focused more on strength training to overcompensate and it wouldn't surprise me if he got back on the juice for this fight either.

Why is everyone underestimating Alistair so much the dude has more then five times the fights of Ngannou and has four times the amount of wins compared to him he is no slouch or idot. It only takes one sloppy strike from ngannou to give Overeem the amount of time to do something. The dudes body kicks and knees come into play too they make people just want to give up as the fight goes on. You ever wonder why Hunt,Roy or Werdum could barley go for the finish in there fight with him when they had him hurt, obvious his body kicks were effective and they couldn't move nearly as good even Werdum was effected going for a take down instead of going for the finish on the feet so he could rest even when Overeem was tired too. Ask Stipe he said it was the hardest he has been kicked by anyone and thats why Overeem got that punch in too because he was clearly hurting Stipe

I really like that Francis Ngannou tries to learn English. So many fighters don't even try. These is so many Brazians who have been fighting for years and never learned. Ofc only language that matters is fighting. But i think it's important to be able to talk English.

not everyone has a GGG or David Tua chin, I suspect you don't either, but yeah Overeem received a ton of damage, at times his body seems to shut off relatively fast and then other times he is able to withstand some powerful shots by heavyweights, that man has to retire soon or his long term health will greatly be affected if it hasn't already

MalSmith69 On paper he should be the favorite, though there’s a big hype train heading for Detroit. Ngannou has never fought anyone of this caliber but he hits very hard and there’s always the problem with Overeem’s chin... For me it’s about 50-50.

He got rocked a couple of times also, but was clinching against the fence. I'm afraid that Ngannou can unload more with same power, than a few power bombs like Hunt does. So better avoid them. Hope Overeem wins though. Ngannou will bounce back and become the HW champion. For Overeem I think it's his last run.
