That was his choice, but he based his choice on something that is not true. He would not have "stolen" (his poor choice of words), the belt. He would have won it fair and square. When something is "stolen" it means the rules/laws have been broken. But I am sure that anti-conceptual mentality eases the pain of giving the belt away, and everything that goes with it. He thinks he did the right thing, the noble thing, but it was Jones who got away with an "illegal act", and took the belt home. If it happens again to Smith, challenging for the belt, (if he gets another shot), would he do it again?

This may sound like a fan boy comment, but I believe either DC, Gustafsson or Smith are going to be the first to beat Jon Jones. DC would destroy him at heavyweight and if Gus gets another title shot, I think he'll be smart enough to throw more than just 1-2s. And Smith landed a right hand that opened a cut over Jon's left eye and that shot didn't even land properly. I love all four of them, but Jon can be beaten and one of these three men will prove it. Not to mention, Gus got hit with a knee to the groin and slowed down rapidly. Before that, he landed a 1-2 that made Jones more cautious. One signature uppercut and Jones may be out. And Smith kept backing up and letting Jon get to him; he never does that.

Jon Jones doesn't suit the heavyweight division. HIs parry style works against weak punchers. It wouldn't work against a puncher like Francis Ngannou even if he is not a high IQ fighter and doesn't have a lot of tools. Jon Jones dominates in a division with weak punchers. A boxer like Deontary Wilder would knock him so far in distance, Wilder would score a touchdown. Obviously, Deontary Wilder is a boxer, not an MMA fighter but my point still stands. Jon Jones knows this, this is why he refuses to fight in HW division. It is dangerous to have your hands out against a puncher. Against a puncher, such styles are really gimmicks because it is a matter of time before a puncher lands their bomb. HIs style is not favorable if he faces a bomber.
