It's crazy to me how ONE fight can make everybody forget how special of a talent Adesayna is. One unusual performance and all the sudden you're "trash", "boring", "a runner", "scared", "shameful". This is the only fight in his entire MMA career that has gone down like that......literally.....the only one, which he still fucking won. Isn't Romero supposed to be the scariest guy in the UFC? The guy nobody wants to fight? The guy made of steel? He looked like absolutely NONE of that in this fight. It goes both ways. If Romero didn't like the way the fight was going, he had every opportunity to change it.......didn't/couldn't.......and then whines about it after the fight? What? He had absolutely no answer for somebody that's able to control distance and stay on the outside, at an elite level. After izzy got hit with those 2 good shots early on in the fight, he made the conscious choice to adjust the way he was fighting and stop walking right into Romero' gameplan. When you come out at the start of the fight and make it a point to stand completely still, it's pretty obvious what you're gameplan was. Izzy changed what he was doing and stayed committed no matter how "boring" the fight was. Romero had no answer, he froze and this is the fight we got.

Quite clear that Yoel was just trying to catch Adesanya with a quick hit and never changed his strategy. Adesanya got caught in the first and adapted. The reality is that both guys know each other’s fortes and weaknesses and both were SUPER precautious about each other. Israel was afraid to get closer and engage a more powerful striker and Yoel was afraid to gas out chasing a younger slicker fighter around the ring. See Israel needed Yoel to come at him wreck less in order to set the traps to masterfully hit Yoel with well placed strikes. But Yoel didn’t dance that song. Izzy fought a smart fight. He kicked his legs and was the most aggressor of the fight. Romero waited for izzy to get close enough to explode but izzy is to fast and smart for that. He won the fight and thats it. Romero didnt want it enough and knew that if he went all out he wouldve gassed out fast and izzy wouldve fucked him up IF THAT HAPPENED.
