DC got him back with an eye poke that was just as bad, slow-mo it like they did with DC and you'll see! Obviously DC was affected a lot more, but Stipe's eye was closed a lot as well for a couple minutes afterwards.

Ref should have stopped the fight after DC got rocked in round 2. He literally asked his corner “did I get knocked down” and his coach said “no”....then he comes out still sluggish.

Just went and rewatched Round 3. Definitely something wrong with DC's eye before the eyepoke. My guess is that it got hurt in the sequence near the end of the 2nd round when he got dropped and mounted right at the round's end. His eye was swollen at the start of the third round and he got poked right at the end of the round. It's unfortunate, but it shouldn't discredit Stipe's win. Both fighters showed tremendous skills, stamina and courage.

The worst thing is that no one seems to think much of stipe eye poking in the last 2 fights, and yet when dc does it it's such a great sin Both of them poked eyes, and it's just something that happens with the smaller gloves. JBJ pretty much weaponized eye pokes and made the whole fingers down rule exist.

He talk shit about Henry but Henry has the biggest heart and determination in Both divisions.Same thing happened to him in DJ fight and he still fought for 5 rounds in high pace fight and Cejudo had TWO injuries in Marlon moraes fight and still won in spectacular fashion (Ankle injury before the fight and Shoulder injury DURING the fight).

Love the UFC and seen most of them in the last 20yrs. I also fucking love Dana standing up and making it happen... still..these fights without an audiences energy are not the same. Hope the UFC keeps going but hard to watch without that 3rd energy. It raises the fighters to a level only they can.

Stipe got poked a bit with Cormiers fingers UP, Cormier got speared in the eye. There's a huge difference. It was such a great fight, it's a shame the outcome was determined by that.

DC was done, with a few more seconds the ref would have just stopped it not wanting to let DC take too much damage. And that would have been a much better way to end the fight because that huge eye poke really sucked.

Gonna miss DC. One of the greatest of all time. I definitely feel the eyepoke messed him up. He was gettin Stipe in Round 4. DC could’ve probably won in the 5th if it wasn’t for that eye because Stipe was tired af. That’s why Stipe was holding on to DC for dear life. Great fight, two warriors. Jones is basically at the same spot as Adesanya when they both talk about going up a weight class but not now, “when we are ready”. Also, it’s obvious that Jones feels more confident fighting at heavyweight against Stipe or DC; he doesn’t want a piece of Ngannou. If by any chance Ngannou becomes the HW champion, Jones will stop talking about fighting at that weight class.

Tonight was so satisfying. Someone's eye is a balloon, rainbow brights foot was a balloon, and Dana is salty as all HELL that Stipe won. That right there is the icing on the cake. Dana did everything that he could, pushed the fight date so that it would be in the smaller octagon instead of having it next month at fight island, he threatened to strip Stipe of the title if he didn't take this fight according to Stipe's wife Ryan. Meanwhile he is saying that if people aren't ready to fight, they aren't pushing fighters to take a fight. Such a lying sack of shit. Yup, I am all smiles haha.
