The point is he was SUPPOSED to dominate Diaz AND not get clipped. Diaz isn't even a top 15 welterweight anymore. He shouldn't be able to put Leon in so much trouble. Look at how RDA dominated Diaz in his prime. Look at how Rory ragdolled him across the octagon. This is an out of prime, beaten and battered Diaz, been through many wars, coming out of retirement and should have been easy work.

That's not how the UFC works at all. UFC is not a meritocracy. If people pay to watch you by the hundreds of thousands and you win over a couple top contenders- you get a titleshot. People don't watch Leon because he is boring as hell. He proved it again vs Nate. Leon is a great fighter with nothing else. 0 spectacle/0 trashtalk/no own style/not a lot of charisma.. oh, and not a lot of knockouts either.

He will not get a titleshot right now because he is nothing more than a great fighter. Basically, he is the EXACT opposite of conor mc'greggor. Leon has to put in 5x the work to get the same pay and title shots. That's how the UFC works.

Stop overshadowing leons win with one moment of the fight from diaz. Leon was destroying him for 5 rounds on the floor and feet. Also stop giving diaz credit every time he gets to the end of a fight. Literally you’re just pumping him because hes a punching bag and can withstand a whooping while still walking forward. Even though Masvidal landed more strikes in his fight, Leon was able to keep a steady pace throughout the whole fight and he did a good job of mixing it up unlike Masvidal. I think Leon’s game is overall better than Jorge, he is just less entertaining because he gives his opponents a lot of respect

I like this guy. He's not a bad guy and what a perfect specimen of a man. I'm happy to see him finally get a big fight and actually see it go off. I def did dig those foot sweeps. Didn't like seeing them work on Nate but they were slick. Now, id like to Leon face the champ over Covington. I think he does deserve it.

Now that Leon confirmed that Nate had him rocked, it annoys me even more that Nate didn’t go for the kill, especially knowing he was down all rounds to that point. Could have been a badass comeback, I’m sure Nate will regret that.
