Let’s be honest this was the fight for the real Belt. Cory deserved that Titleshot and has nothing to be ashamed about. He gave it his all and at 29 has still much more to give and improve upon.

The way Yan makes adjustment is fucking scary , to be able to figure out Cory like that is just impressive. From the 3 round he was able to read him and just kept landing shots.

Yeah, very few fighters in MMA history have Yan's level of fight IQ. Right now only Volkanovski compares but Yan is even more technical and cerebral than Alexander.

I'm convinced. I thought Cory had the near perfect style (the movement, the angles, the height, the reach, the creative striking, the submission game) to beat Yan. I thought Yan was going to have a hard time pressing Cory against the cage or closing the gap but he proved me wrong everywhere. If he can beat prime Cory at striking, he is most likely going to beat an old TJ. He showed his scrambling and defensive grappling in Aljo fight, showed his elite striking here. He looks unbeatable right now.

As an out-boxer like Cory, I can confirm that Yan is our absolute worst nightmare. Cory has mad skills and athleticism, but Yan is just terrifying. Fighting against a taller opponent with longer reach is immensely difficult, being able to outclass and land those clean shots are just out of this world. DC understood how crazy this fight was. I have PTSD from this fight.

Translator in the UFC are mostly trash, it's annoying. They should do substitles at this point.
