The fact that Justin Gaethje has went up against dudes like Dustin Poirier, Eddie Alvarez, Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza, Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, and told Oliveira “you hit hard as shit!” Speaks volumes. Cause not only is Oliveira technically sound and skill with his hands but power behind them is dangerous. He’s even scarier grappling. I look forward to his fight with Islam Makhachev

I think thats how you need to approach Oliveira if you wanna win as a striker, like Gaethje was punching him so hard, Charles was still walking into him like nothing happened. Gaethje and Dustin were being TOO careful to not engage on the ground. Thats why I liked Chandler's fight against Charles, he was doing such a good ground and pound. Michael Chandler said don't sleep on Charles' power. he's very very deceptive, there's a reason why people aren't comfortable against him on feet it's not just the jiu-jitsu threat. it's his striking skills matching with his impeccable timing and placement of strikes. The frustation from Wittman was crazy to see. All those weeks of grinding and drilling the gameplan into Gaejthe's head only for him to throw it out the window and start swinging like a madmen. Gaejthe is a great fighter and when he follows a gameplan, like with the Tony fight, he gives a nearly flawless performance. However the problem with Gaejthe is that as soon as he faces adversity, the dog inside him takes over and he starts brawling. As soon as Olivera landed his first punch, Gaejthe just lost composure and it was only a matter of time before he got finished. Olivera on the other hand is as technically proficient as a fighter can be. Even when he gets hurt, he never deviates from a gameplan and maintains his composure. He never fights with his ego. A lesser fighter would have rained down heavy GnP on Gaejthe after dropping him, potentially giving gaejthe and opening to stand back up and recover. Olivera went straight to his grappling fundamentals and finished the fight there. Man I love this sport.

Behind the scenes Tony looked for him telling him to keep the flame, at a time when the world falls on his head, it shows that Tony was a friend in a difficult time that many abandoned him, I myself spent the whole Friday very sad and a little discredited with everything that happened, I got excited on Saturday afternoon and the night was full of expectations.. it was amazing!

Basically, it's more technique than sheer power like Ngannou that Charles has. Of course there's power but more contributing is his striking technique, the straight punches, the hooks, etc. are so so good. His relentless presure plus kicks to the body and knees puts the opponent in a panic mode. He's fearless if you ask me. Not a quitter anymore.

@@nnamdiasomougha3587 The whole dynamic with Shat Barry right in the way of Trevor was so weirdly obvious the entire fight. Fat Barry shouldn't even be in the Octagon with Rose anymore, let alone blocking Wittman from doing his thing, like he tried to do. You could see Rose was trapped in the Rat Barry echo chamber of 'You hear the boos? That means you're doing it right'. imagine saying u shared it with khabib (though once u step in that octagon..u already lost) - and tbh, especially with mcgregor, that would be something ur grandchildren will tell their gtandchildren lol - because who cares if he is not the same mcgregor anymore - the man is an automatic 1.4+ million ppv buys, most press ever u will ever get, etc. the guy transcended the sport far and beyond and the UFC owes a great LOAD to him though it may be hard for us to admit it - but imagine sitting on the other end of the octagon with that arena going ape sh*t and buffer is then calling/introduces Conors name as he walks to the center of the octagon and does that opening the arm thing lol

I’ve always hated the phrase, “don’t leave it in the hands of the judges,” but I think this fight between Rose and Carla is the perfect time to say it. Never purposefully leave a fight so close in the hands of the judges when you can easily do more. I get it the game plan was to fight safe and avoid the takedowns, but her corner should gave clearly explained to her in between rounds that these rounds were so close the judges could see it any which way. They should gave told her, it’s fine to be cautious, but you have to make sure you are clearly winning each round.

So happy for Charles that he has overcame and conquered despite his troubles in the weigh-ins, still the undisputed champion for me and no screwed up .5 missed weight will change that!🇧🇷🏆🙌👏 If he manages to succeed in pulling off the win over a formidable opponent that is Islam Makhachev next, he's passed Khabib in terms of lightweight GOAT status for me.

He can boxe, he can kick, he grapple, he can wrestle, he can sub his opponents, he can Knock out his opponents, he has solid thai-clinch, extremely dangerous on top and on his back, great accuracy, good timing, versatile in striking and Grappling departements etc..
