Megan just put the curse on Usman with that "have fun out there" comment. That was the last thing Trevor Wittman said to him right before round 5. Congratulations on the defense, Leon. BTW John and McKenzie are both fantastic, and this ability of Tom to analyze while constantly adding that insight to a fighter's mentality makes every breakdown so damn relatable.

Absolutely love John Gooden, he's both relatable and professional. After seeing the vid on his channel sadly saying he wasn't calling it I felt a bit sad for him, but to see that he's got an awesome job like this on this PPV has put a smile on my face now as he deserves it. Proper top bloke.

The only place Leon had in the minds of fans was under the boot of Jorge for a few years. He must have hated doing media then. But him agreeing to face Khamzat was the turning point in his relationship with the fans.

I've always been on his side personally being both a Brit, and also someone who has always loved traditional martial arts mindsets and representation by a fighter like Leon is. I was so disappointed when those few idiots booed him because of his nonsensical argument with Till, they weren't fighting each other and both are our guys... I'll always back our own personally.

@@beaualoevv I wouldn’t call an injury the stanky leg, it’s normally used for when people are rocked. Which he wasn’t. To say that a 29 year old heavyweight prospect in the top 5 will never get a title shot is a wild shout, and says all that needs to be said about your interest and knowledge in the sport. He is arguably 2 fights away from a title shot. They either give him a fan friendly confidence booster like Tai or Lewis. Or he fights Gane in his first fight back and gets a title shot after that. Each to their own, and all that shite 👍

I feel like once Leon fails to pull off another finish, Usman's most likely gonna win the fight by decision and regain the title. Interesting to see how Usman bounces back from that devastating KO loss to Leon in this rematch.

Tommy Aspinall has a very bright future in UFC broadcasting when he decides to full time. Tom will win the belt within the next 2 years imo now that he's had his knee fixed, I don't want him to rush it back though as if he can keep his knee good... he walks through whichever poor sod is next.

Gane just didn't realize how long Jon Jones is and took him by surprise. And I've been saying that Tom Aspinal in a good camp with no issues health wise with his knee and the surgery would be the fight in the heavyweight division against Jon Jones that would give Jones the most competition.

Headkick KO's are what they are. We've yet to see a fighter who can do it on a regular basis, and never catch the same fighter twice. Of course anything can happen, but Leon's not on the level of an Anderson Silva in his prime or even Adesanya as far as being a kicking phenom. If he overplays it he's gonna get taken down way sooner than he wants.

Usman holds the longest win streak in the WW division (notice how the UFC keeps pushing this) saying it's longer than GSP's. However it does NOT beat GSP's longest Championship Title defense streak. Usman got halfway there before Leon's Head Kick KO. Point this out since any UFC show keeps going on about Usman's streak as if it's the title reign. There's a lot of casuals who don't realize the difference. Don't get me wrong any long win streak is ultra impressive, breaking a record even more. But holding the record for most Title Defense's, that is on another level and hard AF to do. Both Adasanya and Usman were being touted as the ones to break their respective weight class title records, then look what happened.

As much as I want Rocky to win, I don't think things will go well for him. There hasn't been enough time for him to make up the differences it's that simple. His only hope is Usman being affected by the KO to the point he alters his style to be more defensive, which of course is possible, but he was dominating Leon about as thoroughly as possible. Maybe if Leon was a grappler it would remove Usman's wrestling advantage, but as things stand, he knows Leon at can't hang with him if he just takes him down. What this fight represents is Usman's legacy. All the talk about him being the WW GOAT was ridiculous. You have to either reign longer than GSP and as he did, beat his generation, the younger stars, and the old guard, or take a loss and regain the belt in dominating fashion, then reign even more dominant than before the loss. I honestly think Usman will prevail, but I do want Leon to win. And more Gooden content, not just this weekend but overall.
