Ilya doesn’t just want to become a champion like everyone else. he knows who he really is - Matador believes that he is the evolution of MMA, the next generation, an improved version of the Volk, Aldo, etc. he is only 27 years old. so his ambitions should be respected. 07:52 makes him a bit more likeable. He‘s doin a great job promoting the fight, and IF he wins he‘ll polarize like crazy and it‘d be a great kickstart for his further career. Volk, like most fighters, is already extra motivated by the need to provide for his family and maybe to represent his country/club. Everything else is just noise to him
