I was really surprised by that. I was rooting for Grasso but I thought the best chance she had would be to play an avoidance style, stay out of Shevchenko's range as much as possible and land little shots whenever possible to rack up points on the scorecards. I never thought she would stand and trade with Bullet, and come out on top. She was so effective at boxing her that Shevchenko switched gears and started relying on grappling, which was a smart thing to do, but she ended up getting finished on the ground anyway.

None of us expected it, even those of us who were rooting for Grasso like I was.

Nobody was able to do that 🤔 Grasso is a good but not a great Boxer, Shevchenko actually has real Boxing experience, also her Taekwondo, Muay Thai or Karate techniques. But you are right, prior to MMA she excelled as a masterclass at striking in her previous career in all those discipline. I only predict a takedown and ground and pound because I think it's a very dominant look. But I think you are right too, Valentina would rather strike if she knows she is the better striker. And naturally is a striker. Very true on Grasso. Good boxing but not great.
