@@Aleksandr68351That's not why, it's because styles make fights. A striker's weakness is almost always good wrestlers/grapplers. That's why Khabib best Dustin and everyone else he fought so easily, they were mostly strikers and their grappling was not on his level. One takedown neutralizes a striker's striking. Charles has better Jui-Jitsu than him and has also improved his striking in recent years. A ground guy can improve their striking a lot further than strikers can improve their grappling. If Dustin fought a striker for the belt he would have a better chance, but against a Khabib/Islam level grappler it's almost a foregone conclusion. There is always a punchers chance but that's all he has, and only until the first takedown in round one. After that of course he loses everytime.

I just started boxing. And it’s crazy to me how these guys can stand in front of each other knowing the possibility of getting hit Is there. I getting hit it’s not the scary part for me it’s just being in the pocket knowing someone is in range to hit me freezes me up a bit and it’s made me respect ALL these fighters way more.

This fight more than any of his career proved to me dustin is an all time great. Mid 30's, multiple title losses, hasn't yet gotten over the hump despite being a perennial top 3 contender for 5 years. He was at a crossroads in his career, he had a ton of money, done a lot in the sport and fought the best. Almost everyone before him in that position took a fight reluctantly against a young lion coming up and went into it half hearted knowing they're on the back end of their careers and got steamrolled. But dustin went into that situation as if he was 25 and working his way up the ranks. He has talked about retirement before many times and usually that's a tell tale sign of them not being fully invested but dustin stood on business and prevailed.

I would say that Dustin has probably taken the most damage of most of the 155lbs division and maybe even the whole roster.The man has fought wars with Hooker,Holloway,Eddie Alvarez 2 times then Gathje 2 times then there is the fights with McGregor and all his other fights in the UFC alone.He has had how many hard sparring sessions over the year's.Dustin is one of the most willing and able guys to just keep fighting.The fight game is a tough business so he deserves all the money and accolades that come his way.

I remember watching this fight. I was worried for Dustin. He was being backed up too much in the 1st. I remember yelling a he TV, u need to stand in the pocket and exchange. Seconds later he won by KO
